Earl the Squirrel has arrived, and he’s brought some deliveries from Mistletoe Pines! The Holiday Tree Hunt has returned to the Universal Orlando Resort for the 2022 season, so grab a map at one of the participating gift shops and get to hunting. There are different Christmas trees located around Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and CityWalk.
Universal Orlando Resort Holiday Tree Hunt — $12.00
The cost of the map is $12.
Inside the map, you can see every location where you can spot a tree, and trees with a star on top notate locations where you can redeem the map for the special ornament prize.
You can redeem the map for a prize at Port of Entry Christmas Shoppe, Velocicoaster Store, Universal Legacy Store, and Park Plaza Holiday Shop.
If you visit each location, you can use this decoder ring to solve Earl’s word puzzle for a secret message!
The rest of this article will contain spoilers for the Holiday Tree Hunt, showing each tree’s design and location. It will not spoil the decoder numbers, but for an example of what to look for, check out the numbered Earl ornament below.
Each Earl in the trees looks identical other than the number on his shirt.
Universal CityWalk Orlando
Universal Legacy Store
The tree in the Universal Legacy Store is a repeat of a tree we saw last year.
This tree in the Universal Legacy Store pays tribute to some retro attractions.
Universal Studios Store CityWalk Tree
The tree that can be found in the Universal Studios Store CityWalk is made of golden tinsel.
This is another tree we saw last year.
Universal’s Islands of Adventure
Comic Book Shop Tree
The tree in the Comic Book Shop is decorated with different super heroes “breaking out” of their ornaments!
Hulk smash!
This poor ornament was no match for Venom.
Did Thanos find an infinity stone inside this ornament?
Velocicoaster Store Tree
The tree you can find in the Velocicoaster Store (otherwise known as the Discovery Center) is mostly blue and silver.
Bingo, dino DNA! The one pop of color you’ll spot on this tree is Mr. DNA, the animated character made famous from the original 1993 film, “Jurassic Park.”
Island Trading Company Tree
The tree inside the Island Trading Company is much more traditional looking, with gold and red decor.
This tree is full of explorer motifs, like this ship above and the ship’s wheel below.
Cats, Hats & Things Tree
The tree inside Cats, Hats & Things is perfect for Whoville! It even bends to one side like Mount Crumpit.
The tree topper is the red and white striped hat from Cat in the Hat.
This tree is silver tinsel with red and blue decor.
All Hallows Eve Boutique
The tree at the All Hallows Eve Boutique fits in so well.
Some chains and even blood-stained antlers can be spotted on this tree.
Toon Extra Tree
This tree is made of orange tinsel and is so bright!
Even the ornaments are bright colors!
Universal Studios Florida
Five & Dime Tree
The tree inside Five & Dime is actually sitting on top of a horse-drawn hearse!
The decor on this “tree” is black and silver, and you can spot some lanterns, chains, and even a bust of Frankenstein’s monster!
San Francisco Candy Factory Tree
Earl is going to be hard to find in this tree since it’s covered in sweet treats!
The “ornaments” covering this tree include donuts, ice cream, and candy canes!
Universal Studios Store Tree
The tree inside the Universal Studios Store is a giant nutcracker!
In addition to his head and shoulders on top of the tree, you can see the nutcracker’s black boots at the bottom!
E.T.’s Toy Closet Tree
The tree inside E.T.’s Toy Closet has an intergalactic motif!
Many of the ornaments on this tree are actually planets!
Holiday Tribute Store Tree
The Holiday Tribute Store tree pays homage to Earl the Squirrel!
The tree topper is even an acorn!
The tree is also decorated with pine cones!
Silver Screen Collectibles Tree
The tree that can be found at Silver Screen Collectibles is pink and unicorn themed!
Even some unicorn music boxes can be spotted!
MIB Gear Tree
This tree in the MIB Gear store is similar to the tree we saw in E.T.’s Toy Close with the space theming, but this tree is made of purple tinsel!
It also has octopus tentacles wrapped around it!
Holiday Tree Hunt Completer Ornament
After purchasing the $12 Holiday Tree Hunt map, you can redeem it at any time for the reward: an Earl the Squirrel Holiday Tree Hunt ornament!
The ornament shows Earl popping his head through a wreath. On the back of the ornament is the Universal Orlando Resort logo, surrounded by snowflakes and Christmas lights!
The Holiday Tree Hunt, along with all the holiday festivities, will be available now through January 1.
