About a month ago, we showed off new themed turnstiles which were installed at the entrance of Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Now they’ve finally been activated and are open for guests to use!
The new turnstiles are located on the right side of the main entrance area in Port of Entry.
The new scanners are shaped like travel trunks, in theme with Port of Entry. Former turnstiles at Universal’s Islands of Adventure had one Team Member managing one scan station, each with a scan pad and fingerprint reader. These new stations condense two into one, with one Team Member possibly able to work the station on their own. A fingerprint scanner and a scan box are in place.
Handheld scanners are also installed. Readers appear to be in place on the sides as well to track entering or exiting guests on their way out. iPad-like devices top the scanners.
The left side of the entrance area is currently covered in walls, presumably to update that side of the entrance with these new turnstiles.
How do you feel about these updated themed turnstiles? Let us know in the comments below!
