*NEW* Chocolate Bourbon-flavored Tart made with TWIX® Cookie Bar Pieces – $7.00
Layers of Caramel and Chocolate Bourbon-flavored Mousse made with TWIX® Cookie Bar Pieces
This tart is delicate and soft, with a luxurious, rich chocolate cream and a similarly soft caramel base, on top of a cookie pie shell.
This is a dressed up, adult version of a Twix bar, which is probably why the Twix is included on top as a reference to that fact.
It’s decadent and rich, making the relatively small size enough to share among two or even three people.
*NEW* Cranberry-Chai Pisco Punch – $15.00
South American Brandy, Cranberry & Lemon Juices, and Cranberry & Chai Syrups, garnished with a Lemon Wheel
This is an interesting cocktail, but not necessarily a standout. The addition of pisco is pleasant and a welcome change to a sea of vodka and bourbon drinks.
Its predominant flavor is cranberry, and the pisco works well within that flavor profile. Overall, it’s enjoyable, and it does its job, but it’s not necessarily something that we will be talking about this time next year.
*NEW* Piña-Hibiscus Mezcal Mule – $15.00
Mezcal, Pineapple-Ginger-Lemon Purée, Pineapple & Lemon Juices, Hibiscus Syrup and Ginger Beer, garnished with a Pineapple Wheel
This one, in contrast, we will definitely be talking about next year and for many years to come. This is one of the finest cocktails DCA has ever had. It’s bright purple and eye-catching with its giant garnish of pineapple, making it perfect for Instagram. And to boot, it tastes amazing.
The smoking mezcal works very well with the ginger beer and hibiscus syrup, with a sweet characteristic but not overpoweringly so. We thoroughly enjoyed this, and it got many people talking as they were walking by, asking what we were raving about.
