Coquito Soft-Serve Waffle Cone – $6.00
The soft serve is really enjoyable. The spices, predominantly nutmeg, give the ice cream an egg nog taste. Coquitos normally have coconut flavor, but we didn’t taste any.
The soft serve is topped with a waffle cone.
Turkey Poutine: French Fries with Turkey Gravy, Cranberry Relish and Crispy Onions – $9.00
The turkey poutine comes piled high in a tiny cardboard boat with fries, shredded turkey, gravy, cranberry sauce, and a sprinkling of crispy onions. The poutine is pretty good. The turkey gravy has a good flavor, and so does the turkey. It tastes like somebody combined your Thanksgiving leftovers and then put them on McDonald’s fries, but not in a bad way. (After all, Refreshment Port was one of the few places where you could still get McDonald’s famous fries after its partnership with Disney ended.)
*NEW* Boulevard Brewing Quirk Cranberry Apple Cinnamon Hard Seltzer, Kansas City, MO (4.0% ABV) – $11.25
From Boulevard Brewing Co.: “Quirk Cranberry Apple Cinnamon invites you to fall into cooler days – spicy cinnamon swirls together autumnal apple and crisp cranberry juices for a cozy hard seltzer made for harvest season.”
*NEW* Pasek Cellars Cranberry Wine, Mount Vernon, WA ($12/bottle) – $7.50
Pasek Cellars describes this wine: “A touch of sweetness on the front moves to a delicious tart cranberry finish. This wine is produced with Northwest grown cranberries from the bogs in Grayland Washington. We ferment the whole fruit after running it through the crusher to break down the tough skins of the cranberries. Because there is not enough sugar in the fruit, we boost fermentation with pure cane sugar and wait patiently for fermentation. Cranberry wine is a bit stubborn in moving through fermentation that creates the alcohol, but it is worth the wait.”
Pumpkin Spice Ginger Cocktail with Boyd & Blair Potato Vodka – $11.50
The pumpkin spice is evident, but overpowered by the vodka.
The cocktail is served in a plastic mule cup.
The ginger taste lingers, which is nice, but otherwise we do not recommend this drink.
Coquito Soft-serve topped with Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum – $12.50
This is the same coquito soft serve, but with a generous pour of rum.
The soft serve and rum complement each other, but many times we got a strong taste of alcohol.
