There are three new holiday treats at the San Francisco Pastry Co. in Universal Studios Florida, and we stopped by to try them all.

*NEW* Coconut Matcha Tree – $6.99
The matcha tree is adorable and super delicious. The matcha flavor is perfectly light, and the consistency of the dessert is smooth and creamy. However, we didn’t taste any coconut flavor, just the matcha.
The white chocolate star was the perfect way to top this Christmas tree. We highly recommend it.
*NEW* Chocolate Cherry Yule Log – $5.99
As much as we enjoyed the matcha tree, the yule log was such a pleasant surprise that it became the winner of the trio. There’s a creamy white chocolate layer with a milk chocolate and cherry filling. The interior was cold and creamy, reminiscent of ice cream.
There are actual chunks of tart and sweet cherries with the milk chocolate. This had the most flavor of these three treats.
*NEW* Mitten Sugar Cookie – $3.79
This is pretty basic and bland. The sugar layer adds crunch but no sweetness. The frosting at the edge of the mitten is good, but there’s not enough frosting to save the rest of the cookie.
At first, it was okay, but after a few bites beyond the frosted bits, we just didn’t care for this at all. Universal has so many good treats for the season that we don’t recommend wasting your money and appetite on this.
Gingerbread Whoopie Pie – $5.49
The cakes were a dense, dry type of gingerbread and were very fresh. The gingerbread flavor was very light, and the cream cheese frosting added a smooth texture to each bite.
The filling wasn’t too sweet and balanced the cake perfectly. If you’re burned out on overly sugary holiday snacks, then this is a great option. It’s flavorful without being too sweet.
This might not have been our favorite treat, but it’s still worthy of being on our “nice list” of snacks.
