It’s the first day of the 2022 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays and we hope you’re hungry!
There are all kinds of food to eat, entertainment, shopping, and more, and now we’re checking out a NEW booth!
Brand new to the Festival of the Holidays this year is the Nochebuena Cocina Holiday Kitchen, located near the Port of Entry.
Let’s take a closer look at the menu.
Menu
The menu for Nochebuena Cocina features three dishes, including the plant-based IMPOSSIBLE Chorizo Tamale and Pernil. For dessert, order the Alfajores.
For drinks, you can order the 81Bay Brewing Co. Horchata Beer or the Chai Ginger Mule.
Food
Our first dish is the IMPOSSIBLE Chorizo Tamale, made with plant-based cotija cheese and spicy red Chile sauce for $5.50. This meal is gluten and wheat-friendly and it’s also plant-based.
We thought this was pretty good! The flavors inside were super tasty (and a little bit spicy, so you may want to skip if you don’t like any spice); however, the outside was a little bit dry.

Our next order was for the Pernil, which was Mojo Pork with tostones and ketchup-mayonnaise for $5.50. This is another gluten and wheat-friendly item.
The Pernil was SO GOOD! This was one of our favorite things we ate today! The tostones was a little bit hard (which made it hard to eat with a spork), but the flavors were absolutely delicious. The pork was beautifully cooked and the sauce on top was delicious.

For dessert, the Alfajores was a vanilla shortbread cookie with dulce de leche and coconut for $3. This is also part of the Cookie Stroll!
This cookie was really thick shortbread, so it was pretty dry. The filling was dulce de leche, which is pretty heavy and sticky, and that combination made it hard to eat more than a few bites of this treat. However, it was very good — it tasted like all the ingredients were high-quality. As long as you get this with a drink, we think you’ll really enjoy it! We didn’t taste the coconut very much. This was one of our favorite cookies on the Cookie Stroll this year.

Let’s wash down our food with some drinks.
Beverages
There are two options for drinks, including the 81Bay Brewing Co. Horchata Beer, which is $5.50 for a 6-oz pour and $9.50 for a 12-oz pour. This drink was very light — it’s not heavy on the horchata at all. It’s not super strong, and it’s an easy beer to sip while you walk around World Showcase.
You can also get the Chai Ginger Mule, made with Boyd & Blair Potato Vodka for $11.50. We thought this drink had very strong flavors. The vodka was pretty strong, but the chai and ginger both were the most prominent flavors. If you enjoy those flavors or just want to try a more adventurous drink, this is a great option.
So is this new booth worth visiting?
Overall
This new booth was a WIN in our book. The pernil is definitely a Best of the Fest contender, and the tamale was flavorful although a little bit dry. We also enjoyed the drinks we got here — the mule was a fun twist and the beer was light. Head on over to Nochebuena Cocina and give this new festival booth a try!
