We talk a lot about how amazing Christmas is at EPCOT and Hollywood Studios that sometimes forget to shine a light on the underdog Animal Kingdom. This park celebrates the holidays in a unique way you can’t find anywhere else. From the Merry Menagerie to Christmas being brought to Pandora, the festivities here are like no other. Let’s take a look at what’s happening in this wild park.
The Christmas Tree
I love this tree, and I think it’s the most fun tree at Walt Disney World because of its base and the fun ornaments.
Discovery Island Shops
I learned something cool about the garland over the shop entrances. The handwoven snowflakes in the decor come from a very magical place. In Augusta, Georgia, there is a shop called, The Augusta Training Shop. This is a non-profit that provides an avenue for adult artisans that have cognitive and physical disabilities. This allows these adults to grow and share their talents. Knowing this information makes the decorations on Discovery Island even more beautiful.
This holiday offering brings Discovery Island to life. I love the steel drums played throughout the area; it adds a relaxing island feel to the atmosphere.
Christmas in Pandora
In this section of the park, they have Diwali decorations up. Diwali is also known as the festival of lights and is one of the most celebrated holidays for Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, and even some Buddhists. This holiday was celebrated on October 24th, and they kept the decorations.
