Universal Beijing Resort has reopened after a COVID-related closure on October 26.
The update from Universal states, “Based on the current pandemic situation, some attractions and shows may be temporarily unavailable, reduced, or adjusted due to the early stage of reopening. We will pay close attention to the local pandemic prevention and control policies and resume normal operations as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause you. The specific operational hours, venue opening status, and show arrangement details will be updated on Universal Beijing Resort Official App, Alibaba Mini Program, and WeChat Mini Program. To help your trip planning, please check for further updates in advance of your visit.”
Guests who were affected by the closure are being advised to contact their original ticket seller for refund information.
Beijing’s “dynamic zero-COVID” policy implements strict city-wide lockdowns, mass testing, contact tracing, travel restrictions, and constant mandatory masking and physical distancing policies. Chinese state media outlet CGTN claims the policy “aims to realize zero infection and bring the pandemic under control at the minimum social cost and in the shortest time possible. It protects people’s health and ensures they can lead normal lives by keeping the virus at bay.”
Guests who visit Universal Studios Beijing are required to show a negative COVID test within 72 hours as well as a valid photo ID and green “health kit” QR code for contact tracing.
