We’ve been keeping track of some major changes at Magic Kingdom, including construction on the upcoming TRON: Lightcycle Run roller coaster and the (hopefully soon) return of the Walt Disney World railroad. But there’s a lot more going on in this park than just those big projects.
Things change almost daily in Magic Kingdom, with updates like new merchandise, small construction projects, and seasonal treats. Come along with us to find out what’s NEW in Magic Kingdom so that you know what to expect during your next visit!
Magic Kingdom Food Updates
There are a lot of new treats in Magic Kingdom right now, many of which have arrived for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! Some treats are available all day long, and others are only available during the hard-ticketed party.
All-Day Treats
You can find some holiday goodies in the confectionery cases all over Magic Kingdom, such as at Big Top Treats and the Main Street Confectionery.
We recently had a Mickey-shaped Santa sugar cookie for $5.49, a Mickey-shaped Santa rice krispie treat for $5.49, and a Hannukah cupcake, also for $5.49.
We also checked out some holiday snacks at various restaurants around the park, like the Texas-sized Sweet Potato Pie at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe, the Fried Pork Tamale and Chai Caramel Freeze at Golden Oak Outpost, and the Foot-long Holiday Dinner Dog at Casey’s Corner.

Party-Exclusive Treats
Some of the holiday treats are only available during the after-hours Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. We were there for the first night of this party and tried out all of these treats as well!
There was a Sugar Plum Shake at Aunty Gravity’s Galactic Goodies, a Christmas Tree Cake at Casey’s Corner, a Polar Bear Claw at Cool Ship, and many more goodies.
You’ll need a ticket for the party if you want to try these new items!

Popcorn Buckets and Souvenir Sippers
There were also a few new and returning souvenirs at this year’s party! We saw the musical tin popcorn bucket, the Toy Story blocks popcorn bucket, and the gold Christmas tree popcorn bucket.
There was also a new snow globe holiday sipper.
Although most of these were only available during the party at first, they’ll be coming to the parks during the day soon!

Magic Kingdom Event Updates
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has begun in Magic Kingdom! A couple of days each week, Magic Kingdom will close early (at 6PM) for day guests, and the party officially kicks off at 7PM and lasts through 12AM (note that party guests can enter the park beginning at 4PM).
There are characters, ride overlays, dance parties, snacks, a special parade, and more.
The whole night ends with a showing of Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks.

Filming for a Christmas Special
Over the weekend, we spotted a few celebrities in Magic Kingdom as Disney began filming the holiday special in front of Cinderella Castle.
This special is called The Wonderful World of Disney Magical Holiday Celebration, and we saw Derek and Juliana Hough from Dancing With the Stars along with singer-songwriter Katherine McPhee.
The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration will air on ABC on November 27th from 8PM to 10PM ET.
Learn more about the holiday special here!
Magic Kingdom Construction Updates
Over in Adventureland, there’s a new holiday photo op that says “Mele Kalikimaka”!
We also took a look at construction on Center Street, which branches off from Main Street, U.S.A.
Disney appears to be refurbishing the ground in this area, and it’s blocked off for now. However, you can get around it to go to the back of Center Street.
We also rode the PeopleMover to get a look at construction on TRON: Lightcycle Run.
There are lots of concrete structures in the area now, and Disney has been working on landscaping here as well.
See the latest TRON construction update here.
