The holidays aren’t the only things picking up in Disney World right now!
We’ve continued to watch holiday decorations and touches pop-up across Disney World and now we’re seeing more of the holiday crowds start to come to the parks. Not only do the holidays draw people to the parks, but there was also the runDisney Wine and Dine Half Marathon which brought LOTS of runners to Disney World! But today, after the race weekend has ended, the crowds were even bigger and you’ve gotta see them to believe them.
EPCOT
When we drove up to EPCOT, we waited in a LONG line of cars just to park! When we got into the parking lot, we had to park a lot further out than we usually do at that time of the morning.
Even a bit after the park had opened, the front entrance to EPCOT was bustling with people waiting to get in.
Once we got in, the crowds were able to spread out for the most part — that is until you go to Connections Cafe (also known as the new Starbucks location in EPCOT). The line went all the way through the queue to the main entrance of the cafe!
Remember: you don’t have to get your coffee fix at Starbucks. There are several Joffrey’s locations around EPCOT or you can even bring coffee with you from your hotel!
So…EPCOT is very busy today. But what about the rest of Disney World?
Transportation and Ticket Center
Well, we were also headed to Magic Kingdom this morning where we had to go through the Transportation and Ticket Center and…YIKES. This is what the line looked like for the Monorail.
Here’s another look at these crowds.

The ferryboat line wasn’t much better — the queue looked to be completely filled up with guests trying to get to Magic Kingdom.
The boat is slow to load and unload so it may take a while.

However, there was barely anybody in line for the buses! These buses take you directly to the Magic Kingdom, and although this isn’t as exciting as the Monorail or boat, it could save you some time.
We will keep watching the crowds in Disney World and give you updates on everything happening in the parks. Pro tip: if you want to get an estimate of how crowded the parks will be when you visit, look at the park pass reservations to see if the park you are going to is full. If it is, it will probably be a very busy day!
