BREAKING: Reopening Date For the TRAIN in Magic Kingdom!

HUGE NEWS for Disney World fans: the Walt Disney World Railroad is finally BACK! We’re heading to Magic Kingdom now to check it out.

The Walt Disney World Railroad

The Walt Disney World Railroad is a Magic Kingdom attraction that’s been closed for multiple years now, but it is finally reopening to guests TODAY! We got the chance to ride the train and check out the new changes and couldn’t wait to share more details with you!

The Walt Disney World Railroad closed back in 2018 as Disney World began work on the TRON: Lightcycle Run roller coaster. Since that coaster’s construction site interrupted the train tracks in Tomorrowland, the train couldn’t circle the park. But now, guests can climb aboard once again!

Disney announced that they would be making some updates to the railroad while it was closed for the TRON construction, including a complete refurbishment on the Number 1 Engine. Here’s some more insider information!

Disney updated several parts of the railroad, from the rails to the roofs. For example, the wooden railroad ties were replaced with composite ties. The path now runs right past TRON: Lightcycle Run! There’s a tunnel for the train to run through, but you can see part of the construction site on the other end.

Guests will once again be able to enjoy a trip aboard the Walt Disney World Railroad this holiday season at Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. This opening-day attraction returns with a completely refreshed track looping the park and an all-new voiceover guiding guests as they travel from one magical land to the next.
