Magic Kingdom
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at the Magic Kingdom will close for a routine refurbishment from January 9 through January 13, 2023.
EPCOT
- The new DuckTales World Showcase Adventure game officially debuts on December 16, but we were able to participate in an early access soft opening around World Showcase during our daily visit to EPCOT.
- Following our DuckTales World Showcase Adventure, take a deep dive with the WDWNT team through this full playthrough of the Japan Mission, check out our adventures in France, find the Norse Sword of Heckfire in Norway, or tune in to a full walkthrough of Germany’s DuckTales missions.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Kali River Rapids will close for refurbishment beginning January 9. The ride typically closes for the season between January and April of each year. A reopening date has not yet been released.
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
- Disney announced today that a new coffee shop called Carousel Coffee is coming to Disney’s BoardWalk Resort. It will serve Joffrey’s Coffee at the site of the former Dundee’s Sundries location.
- The Enchanted Tiki Room’s José has now been memorialized in the form of a tiki mug at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto and we stopped by the signature bar at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to review two signature drinks served in this new tiki mug.
New Merchandise
- A new tiki mug featuring José from the Enchanted Tiki Room is now available at Tiki Terrace and Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
- A Light-Up Jafar Figurine celebrates the 35th Anniversary of Aladdin at the Art of Disney at Disney Springs.
- A Pandora 2023 Mickey Mouse charm is the latest item in the Disney Parks 2023 Dated Collection to appear at Magic Kingdom.
- More 2023 merchandise welcoming in the new year has been spotted around the shops of Walt Disney World, including a Goofy and Cinderella Castle Pennant Pillow, 2023 Disney Skyliner Model, Mickey & Friends Baseball, and a Mickey & Friends Mystery Pennant Pin Set.
Disneyland Resort
- Disney recently announced the return of Anaheim Ducks Day to Disney California Adventure in 2023. Now, more details have been revealed for the January 12th event, including a peek at merchandise, entertainment, and player appearances guests can expect.
Tokyo Disney Resort
- During a performance of the “Disney Christmas Stories” parade, a guest at Tokyo Disneyland jumped into the parade route before being tackled and forcibly removed by cast members.
Hong Kong Disneyland
- Nearly three years after Hong Kong slammed shut its doors to the world at the onset of the global coronavirus pandemic, the city has finally dropped the last of its restrictions for arriving tourists, allowing global tourists the chance to visit Hong Kong Disneyland as soon as they arrive and take a rapid Covid-19 test.
Shanghai Disneyland
- ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, debuted at the Walt Disney Grand Theater in Disneytown, featuring new Avatar-themed projections and Fireworks at the Enchanted Storybook Castle.
- Disney has shared new concept art for Donald’s Dine ‘n Delights, a bistro coming soon to Disneytown at Shanghai Disney Resort. It is set to open this winter.
