Lava Pool Water Slide at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Closing for Refurbishment in January 2023

For you polar bears out there headed to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort next year, you might want to rethink some of your plans. Starting in early January, the Lava Pool water slide will be closed to guests for routine maintenance.

The refurbishment kicks off on January 3, 2023. Disney has stated that the Lava Pool will remain available to guests throughout the refurbishment — only the slide will be closed.

For those who don’t want to use the pool while construction work goes on, the Oasis Pool, which is surrounded by the Hawaii, Samoa, Tokelau, and Nieu longhouses, will also be available to guests.

The 142-foot Lava Pool slide will reopen to guests in early February, according to Disney.

Are you disappointed that the Lava Pool slide will be closed for about a month? Let us know in the comments below.
