Magic Kingdom Gluten Free Ultimate Guide for 2023

Here at DFB, we’re all about the…you guessed it — FOOD!

Cinderella Castle

We’re constantly working to bring you the latest updates and reviews on food in Disney World for Disney fans with all types of dietary restrictions. Disney ‘s food and beverage team makes sure to accommodate different diets and that includes guests who are gluten-free. So, if you eat gluten-free, what do you need to know about eating in Magic Kingdom?

What to Know

Quick Service Restaurants

At quick service restaurants in Magic Kingdom, you should request to speak with a Cast Member or manager that is able to guide you through the gluten-free menu items. Asking for a manager is the way to go — they will ensure that your gluten-free order is made correctly. You can also ask to speak with the Chef.

Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe

Several restaurants in Magic Kingdom are available on Mobile Order (a service that allows you to order food on your phone via the My Disney Experience app) and you can browse the options on there. When you click to order at a restaurant, at many spots there is an “Allergy-Friendly” icon that will take you straight to the part of the menu with gluten-free options.

Although the options are listed out in Mobile Order, don’t be afraid to ask a Cast Member if you want to double check or need clarification on something.

Table Service Restaurants

There are quite a few table service restaurants in Magic Kingdom where guests typically make Advance Dining Reservations before their trip. The gluten-free dining process can begin right as you make the reservation — we recommend noting that you are gluten-free when you create the reservation. If you call (407) WDW-DINE to make a reservation, be vocal with the Cast Member over the phone that you want to note your dietary concerns.

Liberty Tree Tavern

All of the table service restaurants in Magic Kingdom are able to accommodate gluten-free diets without any advance notice, however if you do not add it to your reservation, you should speak with the Chef or Restaurant Manager when you arrive.

At buffet restaurants like Crystal Palace, the Chef can walk you through the gluten-free options on the buffet. If you don’t want anything on the buffet, you can ask the Chef to make something that is NOT on the buffet line.

Before picking a restaurant, many of them have their Allergy-Friendly menus online! Look out for the “Gluten/Wheat” indicator under the item name.

Although the full list of options are available on many menus online, sometimes there is a note that says Allergy Menus are available upon request.

Snack Recommendations

Some of Magic Kingdom’s most popular treats are actually gluten-free! This includes Dole Whip which you can get at Aloha Isle in Adventureland.

Classic DOLE Whip

Mickey Bars are also gluten-free! You can find this vanilla ice cream covered in chocolate (and shaped like Mickey Mouse, of course) at various carts around the park.

Mickey Bar

Just about every ice cream treat is gluten-free in Magic Kingdom as long as you don’t get it in a waffle cone. We recommend heading to the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor and grabbing a bowl of your favorite ice cream — it’s a great way to cool off on a hot Florida day!

Single Scoop

We all know the smell when walking down Main Street, U.S.A. — popcorn! This is another snack that is gluten-free and you can find it at popcorn carts all over the park. The Main Street Confectionery has flavored popcorn — be sure to ask a Cast Member if those are still gluten-free depending on the flavors they have.

If you’re looking for more than a snack, many quick service restaurants have gluten-free meal options! This includes Pinocchio Village Haus which has several pizzas, chicken nuggets, French fries, cookies, and brownies available for gluten-free eaters.

Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe serves up Tex-Mex style food and you can get items like the Beef Nachos, Chicken Rice Bowl, and Bacon Cheeseburger gluten-free.

Disney also created a full line of snacks made for guests with dietary restrictions called Snacks With Character. Disney partnered with companies like Enjoy Life and OMG and at Liberty Square Market we’ve seen allergy-friendly baked goods from these manufacturers — be sure to ask if you’re looking for a sweet treat!

Snacks with Character

There are plenty of gluten-free snacks and meals to choose from in Disney World including some of the most iconic snacks. If you are ever unsure if an item is gluten-free, just ask! A Cast Member will be happy to help you out. On your next visit to Magic Kingdom, try out some of these gluten-free snacks and let us know what you think!
