REVIEW: French Market Restaurant at Disneyland Resort

We hope you’re hungry because we’re eating in Disneyland!

Disneyland Park

Disneyland has been pretty busy lately with a brand new upcoming nighttime firework show, lots of ride closures, and the extension of a popular holiday ride overlay. Disney also has been giving us some new foods to try so you know we had to try them!

Over in Disneyland, we headed to New Orleans Square to grab some new eats at the French Market Restaurant. This quick-service restaurant offers classic southern dishes, salads, and sandwiches while you overlook the beautiful New Orleans Square. We loved the French Market’s latest sweet treat so we were excited to get started!

To start off our meal, we grabbed the Soup in a Sourdough Bread Bowl. For this option, you can choose between the Slow-roasted Louisiana Beef Stew or Creamy Corn Chowder. We went with the Creamy Corn Chowder and boy were we glad!

Soup in a Sourdough Bowl

We think this soup is a classic and we love that the bread bowl is still around. This soup wasn’t as creamy as we would have liked and it was heavy on the number of corn kernels in the bowl. While we do think it wasn’t ideal that the soup soaked into the bread bowl, we still really enjoyed it!

Yum!

Overall, the soup was salty with a slight sweetness. It was easily our favorite thing we tried this day but if you don’t like the idea of slightly soggy bread, we think you should avoid this one. You can grab this soup for $11.99.

Up next we grabbed the Slow-Roasted Beef Signature Po Boy.

The Slow Roasted Beef Signature Po Boy

This sandwich is made of slow-roasted beef topped with fried onions and a creamy horseradish sauce. It’s served on a rustic roll with au jus dipping sauce and a side of seasoned chips. Overall, we were pretty underwhelmed by this sandwich.

A look inside

The meat was a bit dry which made it slightly tough and chewy in our opinion. While we liked that we had the au jus to dip it in, the dipping sauce needed a bit more flavor in our opinion. This sandwich is currently available for $14.69.

Finally, we grabbed the New Orleans Mint Julep to wash it all down.

The New Orleans Mint Julep

This drink is described by Disney as a “refreshing Mint drink with a hint of lime flavor.” We thought the flavors of this drink were subtle which we enjoyed. It was a sweet, slightly tart drink that had a bit of freshness from the mint.

So refreshing!

While we enjoyed it if you’re not a fan of mint you should probably steer clear of this one. You can grab this drink for $5.29.

Overall, we were pretty pleased with the meal! The French Market Restaurant regularly has fun, seasonal items so we were excited to head back. Disneyland is going to have a big year in 2023 so we can’t wait to see what the year will hold. Remember to keep following DFB for all of your Disneyland news and updates!
