The Merry Menagerie cupcake has returned to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and this year, it can be found at Flame Tree Barbecue and Restaurantosaurus.
We spotted it when we were at Restaurantosaurus checking out the new “So Cool Dinos” National Geographic book that now comes with the kids’ meals.
The 50th celebration cupcake is also still available.

Gingerbread Cupcake with Cream Cheese Icing Filling and Frosting
This treat debuted in 2019 and is almost too cute to eat (but too delicious to pass up). A little white chocolate polar bear sits atop an iceberg perch. He is covered in more edible glitter and blue accents. Behind our polar bear friend are two fondant snowflakes.
We took our little chocolate polar bear buddy to meet his inspiration. The Merry Menagerie is an adorable addition to Disney’s Animal Kingdom for the winter holiday season. You can see this year’s show here.
From the first bite, we fell in love with this cupcake. The cream cheese frosting is smooth, creamy, and incredibly sweet. It pairs well with the moist and soft gingerbread cake underneath. The ginger spice flavor isn’t overpowering, either. This dessert is well-balanced and delicious.
The white chocolate polar bear is a solid piece of chocolate and was quite tasty… even if we did feel a little guilty about biting into something so adorable. The fondant snowflakes were terrible, with the texture of wet paper.
The volume of frosting is much more apparent when you cut the cupcake. The dense cream cheese makes it heavier than it looks. All that frosting is delicious but very sweet. We found this cupcake the perfect size to share. The Merry Menagerie cupcake is a must-eat while it is still around!
If it’s too cute to eat, you can take home a plush bear or penguin puppet instead.
