REVIEW: STUNNING New Eats Are At Satu’li Canteen in Disney World

If you’ve been keeping up with current movie news, there’s one BIG blockbuster film that everyone has been highly anticipating…

Animal Kingdom’s Pandora

…it’s Avatar: The Way of Water! Fans have waited more than a decade for the sequel to Avatar, a movie that basically smashed box office records when it was first released in 2009. Now, the second movie is out, and Disney World is celebrating at Pandora — The World of Avatar in a special way.

We announced a few days ago that new eats would be coming to Satu’li Canteen in honor of the new film, but now we’re ready to try them out!

New eats at Satu’li Canteen

First up, there’s the Metkayina Mousse, named after the tribe with which Jake Sully and his family seek refuge in the new film. The new treat is a flourless chocolate cake with chocolate mousse, decorated with raspberry gelee, mango coulis, and boba pearls, and finished off with milk and white chocolate garnish.

Metkayina Mousse

You can order the mousse for $6.29. When it comes to the taste, we really didn’t love the purple frosting on top, it had a very artificial taste. But the other elements of the treat were much better! The flourless chocolate cake was incredibly sugary (could be good or bad depending on what you like). The mousse itself was quite delicious, with a great combination of the fruit flavors.

Inside the mousse

The boba didn’t add much, but it was a fun decorative element and we thought they had a great fruit flavor as well.

For an entree, you can order the Ocean Moon Bowl, which is a colorful assortment of ingredients! It’s made with tuna, blue noodles, watermelon radish, pickled daikon, rainbow carrots, avocado, cucumbers, and red cabbage with a miso and sweet soy drizzle. Honestly, it sounds delicious!

Ocean Moon Bowl

It’s available for $17.49, making it one of the more expensive entrees that you’ll find at the restaurant. (The same price as the Combination Beef & Chicken Bowl.) Not only was this one of the prettiest bowls we’ve ever seen, it was also one of the most delicious! The flavors are very light and there was no spice or overwhelming elements in this dish (we do wish there was a smidge of spice). It was all prepared to perfection, and it would be great for someone looking for a meal that’s light but filling.

It’s so colorful!

It would honestly be a great option for Pescatarian eaters, and it might even be shareable because of how much food you get!

Finally, we have the Ilu Splash Margarita for $13.50. It’s made with a mix of kiwi Monin syrup with lime juice, sour mix, Corazon Tequila Blanco, and a floating slice of Kiwi.

Ilu Splash Margarita

We thought this drink was really light and refreshing, but we could definitely taste the pre-made sweet and sour mix flavors. Our reporter did really love the tequila kiwi flavor though, so that’s a win!

It’s very green!

So should you try the new eats at Satu’li Canteen? Overall, we thought that these new items were super fun, and very worthy of going on your social feed — SO pretty! The bowl was probably our favorite thing, but you can order the dessert and drink to round out the trio and experience all the flavors of Pandora.

YUM
