Welcome back to the Shanghai Disneyland rollercoaster of closures; I’ll be your host for this evening as we take a look at the latest reopening information from China. Unfortunately, there are no prizes at the end of this game show-like news article, though everyone does get to leave with a bonus prize of confusion. Shanghai Disneyland is once again open, however, given the back-and-forward rhythm of the decisions being made at this park, it makes me wonder who exactly would be finding enough comfort in the reopening to make plans to visit. Shanghai Disneyland to Reopen on December 8, 2022
Dear Guests,
Shanghai Disneyland will resume operations on December 8, 2022, operating from 8:30 to 20:00 on the reopening day, marking Shanghai Disney Resort’s return to full operations.
For ticket information, please refer to the Shanghai Disney Resort official website, app, Weixin/WeChat account, the resort’s Reservation Center, or contact the resort’s official travel trade partners.
The resort’s pandemic control measures will be updated in accordance with the latest local government guidelines and guests should check and strictly follow them. Select attractions, live entertainment, restaurants and retail locations may not be available or may operate at reduced capacity. Please refer to our official app for the latest operational information.
For guests whose travel plans were impacted during the closure period, you may contact the original purchase channel with your enquiries or to request a refund or exchange.

For Park Tickets
Guests with tickets to visit Shanghai Disneyland on and/or from November 29, 2022 throughout the time the Park is closed may choose to visit the park on any other day within the next six months from the park reopening day. Your tickets can be redeemed at the park entrance turnstiles with the original Government Identity Card or Travel Document that was used to purchase your original tickets on the day of your next visit, and reservation will not be required*(Please note that an extended dated ticket will only include park admission upon redemption at the turnstile. Any other benefits bundled with the park admission will not be included. If you hold a dated ticket product that also includes other benefits, such as a meal coupon, you may choose to refund entire order via the original purchase channel.)
If you cannot visit the park in the next six months, you can obtain a refund. For guests who have purchased their tickets through the Shanghai Disney Resort Official Website, App, WeChat Account, the Resort Reservation Center, the Resort Official Fliggy Flagship Store or Official Jingdong Flagship Store, you can request a refund through the resort’s official app, and you will obtain the refund through the original purchase channel within 45 working days. For guests who have purchased the tickets through other official channels, please contact the original ticket purchase channel to request a refund or follow the instructions at the end of this notice.For Other Resort Dated Products and Services
For guests who have purchased a Disney Premier Access, Disney Concierge Service, meal coupons or other dated products and services for Shanghai Disneyland on and/or from November 29, 2022 throughout the time the Park is closed through the Shanghai Disney Resort Official Website, App, WeChat Account, the Resort Reservation Center, the Resort Official Fliggy Flagship Store or Official Jingdong Flagship Store, you will obtain an automatic refund through the original purchase channel. For guests who have purchased a dated product and service through other official channels, please contact the original purchase channel to obtain a refund.
The two resort hotels at Shanghai Disney Resort continue to operate as normal at this stage, but we do understand if you wish to change your plans. For guests who have booked resort hotels for the night of November 29 and/or onwards, 2022, you can contact the original purchase channel for enquiries.For Shanghai Disneyland Annual Pass holders
The validity period of a Shanghai Disneyland Annual Pass which is still valid on and after November 29, 2022 will be extended and we will timely communicate with our Annual Pass holders.Required pandemic measures
Shanghai Disney Resort continues its enhanced health and safety measures, in accordance with government regulations and guidance. All guests are advised to strictly follow these measures in support of a safe and happy experience for everyone visiting the resort.
– According to pandemic prevention and control directives, all guests entering various locations designated with ”Venue Code” within Shanghai Disney Resort are required to scan the “Venue Code” and present a green code to Cast; guests entering restaurants and any other venues that require special pandemic prevention measures in the resort (including Shanghai Disneyland, Disneytown and hotels) will be required to display their negative Nucleic Acid Test (NAT) taken within 48 hours. All NAT references are from result time. Special groups such as children under three years old may be exempted from negative NAT screening. Guests are strongly recommended to register for their Shanghai Health QR Code via the Suishenban App, Weixin/WeChat or Alipay prior to their arrival. For guests without a smart phone, please bundle your QR code with a family member via the Suishenban App, Weixin/WeChat or Alipay, and an offline Suishenma, applied via the Government Online-Offline Shanghai (“Yiwangtongban”) platform, with valid green codewill also be accepted. Guests using the offline Suishenma will be required to present it to our onsite Cast to scan and verify the information as well as to present a valid government ID at the same time;
A kind reminder that it is the responsibility of each guest to carefully monitor the latest government-issued pandemic prevention and control measures to ensure they are fully compliant with all guidelines.
– According to the government guidelines, Guests and any accompanying persons are not allowed to enter Shanghai Disney Resort if any guest in their party holds a red Shanghai Health QR Code (“Suishenma”).
– According to The Covid-19 Prevention and Control Guidelines for A-level Scenic Spots in Shanghai (Fourth Edition of 2022), all guests who have a history of overseas travel and residence within 8 days prior to their visits or have a history of travel or residence in the counties (cities, districts or banners) where high-risks areas are located within 7 days prior to their visits may not be allowed to enter Shanghai Disney Resort.
– All hotel guests will be required to present their green Shanghai Health QR Code and to complete the scanning of the “Venue Code” upon entering the hotels at Shanghai Disney resort each and every time. Guests who wish to visit hotel restaurants or any other venues that require special pandemic prevention measures will also be required to display their negative NAT taken within 48 hours (from result time). Special groups such as children under three years old may be exempted from negative NAT screening. Additionally, all guests are required to complete the Health Declaration Form during check-in at the Front Desk and Magic Kingdom Lounge. If you are not able to complete the scanning of the “Venue Code”, or are unable to present a green Shanghai Health QR Code, you may not able to check in. In accordance with local government directives, if you develop a fever or a fever with the following symptoms: cough, cough up sputum, runny nose, sore throat, chest aches & tension during your stay at one of our resort hotels, you will be asked to seek medical attention at a designated medical clinic.
– Some locations operate at controlled capacity during this period;
– All guests will continue to be required to undergo temperature screening upon entering Shanghai Disney Resort;
– All guests must wear masks in confined areas and crowded outdoor areas in the resort;
– All guests will be required to strictly follow social distancing requirements, and a safe distance should be kept while queuing, watching outdoor performances or dining;
– All guests will be encouraged to maintain good personal hygiene;
– All Cast Members at Shanghai Disney Resort, tenant employees at Disneytown and third-party vendors will be required to undergo regular NAT as well as conduct temperature screening and recording following government requirements;
– Sanitization and disinfection will be increased and strengthened throughout the resort.
