Of all the resorts on Disney World property, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground might be the least visited — at least by guests who aren’t staying there.
It isn’t necessarily an easy location to get to if you’re staying somewhere else, but if you’re on a budget and like camping, it might be EXACTLY the Disney World accommodations you’re looking for. However, if you’re looking for something a little more bougie, you can always get a cabin onsite where you can “rough it” with all the amenities you might enjoy at a hotel. But what about food at this resort? Well, let’s take a look at what’s available.
Just because Fort Wilderness is mostly campgrounds doesn’t mean there aren’t some stellar places to eat. In fact, a couple of the sit-down restaurants are fan-favorite destinations even for guests who don’t normally stay here! There are quick service spots, some table service dining, and a few bars that you’ll need to know about. Let’s dive in.
Chuck Wagon
The Chuck Wagon is a food truck that you’ll find on the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds. It’s usually only open in the evenings, from 5:30PM to 9:30PM, but check the times on the My Disney Experience app when you’re there.
You’ll find some standard counter service food here, but there are also a few more exciting eats, like the Macaroni & Cheese Burger, which is topped with fried mac & cheese, bacon, and smoked gouda.
A few snacks are on the menu as well, like Mickey pretzels with cheese, jalapeño poppers, onion rings, and fried mac & cheese. And the BEST part? You can get CORN DOG NUGGETS here! This is one of the only places in Disney World outside of Magic Kingdom to find these amazing nuggets of perfection.
This spot is also where you can pick up S’mores Kits for the Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long.

Crockett’s Tavern
Located near Pioneer Hall, Crockett’s Tavern is a wagon-wheel nostalgic full-service bar, offering adult beverages along with eats like nachos and wings. This spot also serves up a selection of specialty Moonshine cocktails.
It shares space with Trail’s End restaurant and Davy Crockett’s Wilderness Arcade. Indoor seating is available, as well as relaxing rocking chairs located on the porch. Within walking distance to the Fort Wilderness Marina and Settlement bus stop, Crockett’s Tavern is easily accessible by boat or bus.
Inside, you can feel like you’re having a drink with a campsite feel. Grab a Moonshine cocktail — our favorite is the Gullywhumper, made with Ole Smoky White Lightnin’, Bols Peach Schnapps, Pineapple Juice, and Cranberry Juice.
There’s also some wine, bear, and non-alcoholic libations on the menu. To eat, try loaded nachos, jalapeño Poppers, chicken wings, or fried green tomateos.

Meadow Snack Bar
If you’re at the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and find yourself needing a snack or something to drink, you’ll find Meadow Snack Bar nearby to satisfy your cravings.
You’ll find hot dogs, loaded chips, pizza, BBQ sandwiches, and the like here, as well as some treats like Mickey ice cream bars and chocolate cake.
There are assorted alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including some fun specialty drinks here, too, like the Moonshine Daiquiri and the Ole Smoky Blackberry Colada Moonshine.
In general, this is a good spot to grab a quick snack if you’re nearby, but it’s not really a destination eatery.

P & J’s Southern Takeout
You’ll find P & J’s Southern Takeout in the same building as Trail’s End Restaurant and Crockett’s Tavern. As the name suggests, this is a takeout spot where you can grab quick breakfasts, lunches, and dinners.
Breakfast includes standard takeout items, but you can grab some Biscuits and Gravy here, too! Mickey waffles, croissant sandwiches, and a plant-based platter are on the menu as well. There’s also a bakery with various pastries and treats, including a Chocolate Turtle Brownie . Need your caffeine fix for the day? Find hot and iced coffee here as well.
Lunch and dinner feature barbecued ribs with all the fixins, fried chicken, pizza, salads, and more. The bakery is open for lunch and dinner, so you can still get treats like specialty cupcakes, brownies, and cookies. Coffee, soda, beer, and wine are on the beverages menu.
You’ll also find a lot of seasonal snacks here. Note that there are a few tables with umbrellas just outside if you want to sit there to eat instead of taking your meals to go.

Trail’s End Restaurant
Looking for a down-home meal that’s sure to fill you up? Head on over to Trail’s End, which serves up family-style skillets for breakfast and dinner. The Breakfast Skillet here has Pecan-smoked Brisket and Eggs, Mickey-shaped Waffles, Bacon and Sausage, and Cheesy Potato Casserole served with Table Syrup. It’s also ALL YOU CAN EAT and it’s just $20! Also, the breakfast pastry basket has Strawberry-Honey Butter which is DELICIOUS.
Dinner features cozy fare like Cornbread and the Smokehouse Skillet, which has Pecan-smoked Brisket, Smoked Chicken, Pulled Pork, Roasted Potatoes, Green Beans, Buttered Corn on the Cob with Chipotle Barbecue and Carolina Mustard Barbecue Sauce. Yep, it’s a meat-eaters DREAM!
Finally, if you want to eat a REALLY over-the-top dessert, order the Covered Wagon Sundae. This is a shareable “Wagon Load” of Ice Cream, Toppings, Brownies, Cookies, and Chocolate-covered Bacon.
This is a sit-down meal, so you’ll need reservations to dine here.

Hoop De Doo Musical Revue
We saved the best for last because with the Hoop De Doo Musical Revue, you get dinner AND a show — and both are pretty awesome. The show takes place in a barn (that’s actually Pioneer Hall) complete with fun dancing, singing, and wacky antics. But here’s the thing — while you’re getting entertained, you’ll also be getting some of the best food at Fort Wilderness.
You’ll get all-you-care-to-enjoy food that includes some fried chicken you’ll remember for the rest of your life (we are NOT joking), ribs, mashed potatoes, and more. This is one of those experiences worth making the trek out to Fort Wilderness for!
If you do want to visit the Hoop De Doo Musical Revue, be sure to make those advance dining reservations as soon as you can — you can make those 60 days before the first day of your Disney World trip.
