Let’s be honest Disney vacations can get stressful, and sometimes we need a spot to relax, preferably somewhere with good food. Among the hustle and bustle, there are plenty of lunch locations that are laid back. For the past few years, I have visited the parks with friends, family, and alone. During these trips, I have found some of the best lunch spots that take you away from the craziness of the parks. Let’s check them out!
Kona Cafe is just a monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom, and with its Polynesian theming, it’s a very relaxing spot. The restaurant just underwent a remodel and is now brighter than before. Here guests can enjoy Asian-inspired dishes like sushi, poke bowls, and stir-fry. In general, the Polynesian Village Resort is a very relaxing place. If you don’t enjoy the cuisine at Kona Cafe, you might enjoy Capt. Cook’s, which is located near the lobby. This quick service may not look relaxing, but it could be if you grab a table outside.
I know that may seem weird, but the seating area is actually very peaceful, especially if you sit by the water. When you get the right seat by the river, you also get a fantastic view of Expedition Everest. The food may not be groundbreaking, but this location is home to a fan-favorite meal like the pulled pork macaroni and cheese. During the colder months, this is one of the best spots to relax at Animal Kingdom.
Just a boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom, there is a lakefront retreat called Geyser Point Bar & Grill. for seating, they have comfortable patio furniture and bar seating. Here they serve a hearty fare, so you better be hungry. You can find menu items like a Bison Burger, which you wouldn’t find in the parks. It’s a beautiful spot to grab a drink, order a meal or appetizer and escape the crowds. Geyser Point is such a quiet and relaxing spot, and you are surrounded by a gorgeous resort that transports you to a place far from Orlando within a moment.
I can’t say enough great things about Homcomin. I think it’s the best dining location at Disney Springs and offers lovely views of the springs. Believe it or not, shopping and walking around this shopping district can be very draining. The best way to fuel yourself after that is with comfort food like fried chicken, mashed potatoes, deviled eggs, biscuits, and macaroni and cheese. The best area to sit at is toward the back by the large windows facing the water or the outdoor patio that faces the crystal blue springs. If this isn’t your speed, my other recommendation is D-Luxe Burger across the way since they also offer outdoor seating that looks over the waterway.
I am surprised that I haven’t been selected to be the official spokesperson for Spice Road Table because I recommend this place to everyone. This Mediterranean hideaway is located in EPCOT and sits on the water of the World Showcase Lagoon. Here guests can order small plates to share, or if you are like me, sharing isn’t involved. With the gorgeous view of the water and the peaceful music being played, it’s the perfect spot to decompress. This has become my favorite spot in all of Walt Disney World over the past few years. Not just because the view is beautiful but because the food is even better and decently priced.
