Walt Disney World Testing Virtual Assistant in My Disney Experience App

A new update to the My Disney Experience app for Walt Disney World guests appears to be the addition of a new virtual assistant chatbot to answer basic questions about the resort.

MDXChatbot

The bot, which goes by “Disney Virtual Assistant” can so far only answer basic questions, pertaining to topics like park hours, rentals of wheelchairs/ECVs/strollers, or smoking areas. There’s also a prompt to connect to Cast Members, just like the old chat function.

Disney Virtual Assistant will likely be expanded to include more frequently asked questions to save the burden on Cast Members who respond to chat messages. Responses can occasionally take hours, which makes this function helpful for filtering out the more frequent questions. This way, perhaps Cast Members can attend to more specific matters faster.
