If you’ve got a little one sitting next to you, cover their eyes…because we’re about to show something SCARY.
Did anyone else scream?! Yep, those are the crowds in Disney World today, specifically EPCOT. The parks typically get pretty busy in the week between Christmas and New Year, but what we’re seeing today is unlike any other crowds we’ve seen this year. Don’t believe us? Keep scrolling to see the proof.
For starters, there was a SWARM of guests at the entrance, and that’s when the park had already been open for nearly TWO HOURS. Yikes.

We definitely had to wait a few minutes to get inside.
But once we walked inside, we were in for our first big shock of the day. Spaceship Earth — you know the classic world history-themed ride inside the giant EPCOT ball? — yeah, that was a 65-minute wait! You guys, this ride is usually less than half an hour, often hovering below 10 minutes in the middle of the day. That’s WILD.
And if you think that’s shocking, just look at the rest of the wait times! Around 11:15AM, the shortest wait was 35 minutes for Journey Into Imagination With Figment. Turtle Talk With Crush was up to 45 minutes, and Gran Fiesta Tour was a whopping HOUR-LONG wait.
You could also choose to wait an hour for The Seas with Nemo & Friends or 90 minutes for Mission: SPACE. Frozen Ever After, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Test Track all had typically long waits, each hovering around two hours.
We’ll continue to watch the crowds and wait times throughout the day and keep you updated, but basically…avoid EPCOT today! You probably don’t want to touch this park with a 10-foot pole unless you’re just coming to people-watch. (In that case, it’s a gold mine!) The waits are long and the crowds are dense.
Surprisingly, things are not like this at every Disney World park today. We’re seeing normal-ish wait times at Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios isn’t the absolute worst we’ve seen it. It just goes to show that sometimes these things are unpredictable.
