6 Things in Disney Springs That Locals Actually Eat

There’s a little something for everyone at Disney Springs, which is why guests should ALWAYS make time to visit the shopping and dining district.

Disney Springs

From unique souvenirs to fun entertainment and more, Disney Springs is a must-do. The area also has some of the best restaurants AT Disney World, but where do the locals go in Disney Springs when they’re hungry?

We asked those on our DFB Team based in Orlando and they shared the dining spots they love in Disney Springs.

City Works Eatery & Pour House

When it’s time to chill and have a craft brew and some fun bar eats, we’ll head on over to City Works Eatery & Pour House. The massive menu has a little something to please everyone, but we’re most likely to order the Smoked Cheddar Mac ‘N Cheese, made with Grilled Chicken, Bacon Lardons, Smoked Cheddar Cheese Sauce, and Cavatappi.

For those who are really into sports, there are a TON of TVs (including a 165-inch screen) tuned into live sports. There’s also plenty of seating, so you won’t have to wait TOO long to get a table here.

Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar

When it comes to grabbing drinks, we LOVE Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar. First, it’s got an Indiana Jones theme — what’s not to love about that? But more importantly, it’s got a HUGE menu of cocktails themed around Indiana Jones, including the Bitter Barkeep, made with Barsol Quebranta Pisco, Simple Syrup, and fresh Lime Juice PLUS a Pasteurized Egg.

You’ll also find some good snacks here like the Snakebite Sliders (Three Gourmet Beef Sliders with Tomato-Bacon Jam, House-made Pickles, Shredded Lettuce and Cheese) and the Air Pirate’s Cargo Loaded Pretzel (a pretzel stuffed with charcuterie). Also, you can enjoy cheaper food and drinks during Happy Hour from 11AM to 3PM on most Mondays through Fridays. Our locals think this is also a great spot to meet friends for drinks!

The Polite Pig

If you’ve followed us for any amount of time, you’ll know we’re big fans of The Polite Pig, and our locals love it, too! Our carnivores LOVE the Butcher Board, which comes with Pork Shoulder, Smoked Chicken, Brisket and BBQ Cheddar Sausage with Slaw, House Pickles, two Cornbreads and a choice of two Market Sides. You can also grab a variety of BBQ and smoked specialties here (also, don’t miss out on the Mac and Cheese as a side).

Mac and Cheese

This is what’s called a “Modern” BBQ joint, and it’s so good that it’s one of seven Disney World restaurants that has been recognized by the Michelin Guide. You can also try a variety of Bourbons here, as well as some delicious Cocktails.

Wine Bar George

Yes, we talk about Wine Bar George a lot and that’s because we go there A LOT. Not only can you choose from 100 wines to sip on here (and this is the ONLY location in Florida owned by a Master Sommelier), but the food is also good enough to blow your mind. We will never not order the Crispy Mac & Cheese Bites with tomato nage and pecorino.

One thing we love about Wine Bar George is that it’s a very adults-focused dining spot that feels very relaxing. Want to escape the hustle and bustle of Disney World? GO HERE. It’s also our GO-TO for date night!

Salt & Straw

Our locals will make a trip to Salt & Straw at the beginning of each month just to try out the unique ice cream flavors there (new flavors arrive each month). We’ve enjoyed everything from Deviled Eggs Ice Cream to ice cream with flower petals in it to ice cream covered in edible perfume. And we’d do it again.

Salt & Straw

Except for maybe the bug ice cream. We’re not sure we’d do that again. But you’re guaranteed an EXPERIENCE when you eat ice cream here. Don’t worry, though, there are some more basic flavors available if that’s your thing — and those are DELICIOUS, too.

Here’s our FIRST Review of Salt & Straw!

Morimoto Asia

Morimoto Asia is where we go when we’re craving sushi — this restaurant is owned by Iron Chef Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, after all. When we want bigger bites, we’ll eat the Peking Duck Carving after watching chefs prepare it in front of us! It’s carved house-roasted whole duck, served with steamed flour tortillas, apricot sweet chili, hoisin miso and choice of steamed white or brown rice.

When we don’t have time to sit down and enjoy a table service meal, we’ll head on over to Morimoto Asia Street Food where we can grab quick bites to eat like Ramen, Takoyaki (Octopus Fritters), and Egg Rolls.
