Best Snacks at Magic Kingdom in Disney World for 2023

Hamburgers, french fries, ice cream, and churros — What do all of these things have in common (besides the fact that they’re delicious?!) They’re all your standard, run-of-the-mill theme park food that you can find in any Disney World park.

A Classic Mickey Pretzel

Now, that doesn’t make them ANY less tasty, by any means, but what if you want to try something new and different that you can’t find anywhere else in Disney World? Well then, we’ve got you covered!

Let’s dig into the BEST things to eat in Magic Kingdom that you will ONLY find in Magic Kingdom. That’s right – ALL of these items are exclusive to the OG Florida park that started it all. Magic Kingdom wasn’t always known for having some of the best snacks in Disney World, but this park has really stepped up its game over the last few years, especially for the 50th Anniversary celebration! Lately, we’ve been trading out our standard theme park ice cream cone for one of the Snow White-themed Seven Dwarfs Cones! Standard theme park eats are no longer standard, friends, so it’s time we tell you about our top favorite snacks that are exclusive to Magic Kingdom.

Special themed ice cream cones? Yes, please!

Best Classic Disney World Snacks

Tropical Serenade

It would not be a Magic Kingdom snacks list without mentioning Dole Whip at Aloha Isle in Adventureland, right? Dole Whip has become a super popular Disney World snack and now you can find a version of it in all of the parks and even a dedicated spot, Swirls on the Water, in Disney Springs. With the 50th Anniversary Celebration in Disney World, we found a new Dole Whip favorite that is unique to Magic Kingdom: the Tropical Serenade!

Aloha Isle is where you can find Dole Whip in Magic Kingdom!

The Tropical Serenade is a tasty treat with a generous serving of Coconut Dole Whip swirled into a cup of the Disney-famous POG Juice (which is Passionfruit, Orange, and Guava). To finish off this delicious float, an upside-down Pineapple Cake Pop is tucked into the soft serve. This Tiki Room-themed float is THREE great treats in one, and it would be a great option for anyone who loves tropical flavors.

Tropical Serenade

This float replaced another crowd favorite, the Kakamora Float, which was a coconut soft-serve in pineapple juice with citrusy blue curacao syrup and topped with a delicious Kakamora chocolate cake pop. We loved the Kakamora Float, but we think the Tropical Serenade is just as delicious and refreshing!

In fact, we actually prefer the Pineapple Cake Pop that comes with the Tropical Serenade over the Chocolate Cake pop that comes with the Kakamora Float. If you need more reasons to try this amazing float, the Tropical Serenade actually ranked NUMBER ONE out of all the 50th Anniversary treats in Magic Kingdom!

The Tropical Serenade is a MUST!

You can try our favorite treat for $7.49. Aloha Isle can get pretty busy, especially in the middle of the day when it’s really hot outside, so you may want to place a Mobile Order if the lines are really long!

Cheshire Cat Tail

While we’re going down a rabbit hole of the best exclusive Magic Kingdom snacks, it’s only fitting that we talk about the Cheshire Cat Tail at Cheshire Cafe in Fantasyland. The Cheshire Cat Tail is basically a Chocolate Danish Twist dressed up with drizzles of pink and purple icing to resemble the mysterious and charming Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland.

Cheshire Cat Tail

This one may be one of the more simple ones on our list, but simple isn’t always a bad thing! For instance, a lighter pastry is a safer choice than a bunch of heavy fried food if you’re about to go on Space Mountain or Astro Orbiter! We recommend pairing this pastry with a Cold Brew Coffee if it’s on the cafe’s menu during your visit. You can enjoy the Cheshire Cat Tail for $5.79.

Cold brew and Cheshire Cat Tail, a perfect Magic Kingdom breakfast

Also, just a heads up: If the Cheshire Cafe isn’t open, you may find the Cheshire Cat Tail at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland, which is just steps away from Cheshire Cafe!

Cheeseburger Spring Rolls

Okay, let’s talk about some tried and true favorites that keep us coming back to Magic Kingdom, since that’s the only place we can find these favorite snacks! Spring Rolls may not be your first thought when you think of theme park food, but they will be once you try these! The Spring Roll Wagon is located near the entrance to Adventureland, and these spring rolls really are worth all the hype they’ve been getting.

Adventureland Spring Roll cart

This cart serves unique flavors like Cheeseburger Spring Rolls, which are meaty, cheesy spring rolls that taste like a fast food cheeseburger, but surrounded in a golden, crispy shell instead of a bun. Usually, the Spring Roll Wagon will offer Cheeseburger Spring Rolls along with one other specialty spring roll.

50th Celebration Spring Rolls

The specialty flavors tend to rotate, but others we’ve enjoyed include Bacon Macaroni and Cheese Spring Rolls, Reuben Spring Rolls, Pepperoni Pizza Spring Rolls, and Buffalo Chicken Spring Rolls. Currently, the specialty spring roll is the 50th Celebration Spring Roll, which is filled with pastrami and pepper jack. This one is served with a mustard dipping sauce. You get two spring rolls with your order, so you can get two of the same or one of each. The price is $9.50 for the two!

Nutella & Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich and Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich

Picture a sandwich, but now make the bread a sweet waffle. Your mouth watering yet? Well, then try the Nutella & Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich or the Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments in Liberty Square.

Sleepy Hollow Refreshments

When we asked the team what their favorite thing to eat in Magic Kingdom was, the Nutella & Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich came up multiple times! This sandwich is a classic Belgian waffle topped with a slather of rich, chocolatey Nutella and then smothered with fresh strawberries, blueberries, and banana. While this one can sometimes be enjoyed all day, you may find that it’s only being served for breakfast (which is before 11am) so if this is a must-try for you, prioritize this in your morning plans to ensure you can try it! The price is $8.49.

Fruit and Nutella Waffle

If you’re looking for a more savory and sweet sandwich, try the Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich. This sandwich is a deep-fried battered chicken breast ladled with some tasty sweet-and-spicy sauce. It is topped with a crunchy, tangy slaw and placed in a golden waffle. Over the years, this sandwich has come and gone from the menu, but these days, it’s been more consistently available, which we think is GREAT because this is one tasty and filling sandwich.

Sweet & Spicy Chicken Waffle

This sandwich comes with house-made chips to make this a complete meal, and the price is $11.29.

Best Savory Snacks at Magic Kingdom

Creamy Bacon Macaroni and Cheese Tots

Next up, Creamy Bacon Macaroni and Cheese Tots – Say that five times fast! It’s a long title, but a fitting name! The Creamy Bacon Macaroni and Cheese Tots at The Friar’s Nook in Fantasyland is a generous serving of super creamy mac and cheese topped with bacon and sour cream and garnished with green onions. Finishing off the dish is a whole bunch of golden tater tots!

The Friar’s Nook

This is a great option for sharing, so you can save room for more Magic Kingdom exclusive snacks. If you’d prefer the mac and cheese without the tater tots, you could opt for the Creamy Bacon Macaroni and Cheese on its own. Both are great, but we are a little partial to the version with the crunchy tater tots! A side of just Tots and Cheese is available, too!

Creamy Bacon Mac and Cheese Tots at Friar’s Nook

The price for the Creamy Bacon Macaroni and Cheese Tots is $11.49. For just the Creamy Bacon Macaroni and Cheese, the price is $11.49. And for just the Tots and Cheese, the price is $5.29.

Hushpuppies

Okay, let’s talk about a tasty Magic Kingdom exclusive that’s less than $5! We’re talking about the Hushpuppies at Columbia Harbour House in Liberty Square.

Columbia Harbour House

These Hushpuppies are a perfectly classic side item for the seafood at this restaurant, but they could easily be a snack all on their own! They are nice and crispy on the outside and thick and doughy on the inside. These deep-fried golden cornmeal balls are complete with whole corn pieces inside, which add just a hint of sweetness to this savory snack.

Hushpuppies!

And we’re not leaving Columbia Harbour House just yet…

Spoon For One More

Want another savory snack based on a ride? How about one of the most popular and spooky rides in Disney World? That’s right – This next one is a Haunted Mansion inspired snack at Columbia Harbor House in Liberty Square, and it’s called Spoon For One More.

Spoon for One More

The name Spoon for One More is inspired by the saying that there is always “room for one more” in the Haunted Mansion. Any volunteers? Well I’ll volunteer to eat this tasty snack again! Spoon for One More is a rich New England Clam Chowder served in a black sourdough bread bowl. The black color comes from food coloring, but it doesn’t change the taste or texture at all. This is a really hearty soup, and the addition of the bread makes it even more filling, but you can order just the soup without the bread bowl if you prefer.

You can enjoy the Spoon for One More for $7.49 or you can order the clam chowder only for $6.79.

Candied Bacon Skewer

Bacon on its own is amazing, but Candied Bacon?! It’s not hard to imagine why this made it onto our list!

The Candied Bacon Skewer at Westward Ho in Frontierland is a huge, thick piece of bacon. It’s served with potato chips, which makes this snack seem more like a small meal. Even though the flavor of the bacon is outstanding with the candied coating giving the whole thing sweet-and-savory vibes, the texture might not be for everyone.

mmmm bacon

The texture isn’t as crispy as you’d think, and sometimes the pieces can be quite fatty. If you like chewy bacon more than crispy bacon, then you will probably love this! But even with that small caveat, it’s still bacon, which is super tasty, and many people absolutely love this sweet and smoky flavor pairing.

That is some thick bacon!

You can try this delicious snack for $9.99.

Plaza Loaded Fries

These have been a DFB favorite for oodles of time for good reason! They sound so simple (they are), but we swear they’re so so good. These are your standard Disney “fast food fries” covered in Boursin cheese sauce. They are then topped with lettuce, diced tomatoes, and bacon. The cheese sauce is super flavorful and definitely not your normal melted cheese. On past visits, this was our beloved plastic cheese so the “upgraded” cheese sauce was a surprise. It was the bomb, BUT..there was hardly any on the fries! More cheese, please! Seriously, why are we not making more stuff out of Boursin cheese?? The OLD Loaded Plaza Fries came with a Ranch drizzle on top (making them much more like the old Figaro Fries of days gone by from Pinocchio Village Haus). So when you get these, ask for a side of Ranch for your own drizzling.

All that cheesy goodness

They’ve seen a bit of a price increase jumping from $9 up to $13, which doesn’t sound like a snack price, but they’re meant to serve two! So, that’s two snacks for $6.50, instead of 1 snack for $13 (well, plus tip, of course), but well worth it!

Best Sweet Snacks at Magic Kindom

Peanut Butter Cookie Pie

What if we told you some of the best exclusive snacks in Magic Kingdom are waiting for you right at the entrance? – Well, at least really close to the entrance! (And conveniently, this is also the exit, so you can grab one on your way out of the park, too!) Stop by Main Street Confectionery on your way in or out of Magic Kingdom and try the Peanut Butter Cookie Pie.

Main Street Confectionery

This one is for the peanut butter lovers out there! This huge, soft, thick peanut butter cookie is topped with chocolate frosting. The main purpose of the frosting, besides making this a Reese’s lover’s dream come true, is to affix a handful of Peanut Butter M&Ms on top of the whole thing. There’s also a bunch of peanut butter chips baked throughout the cookie base, which adds some nice texture and even MORE peanut butter flavor!

Some people say this is a great treat – but we argue that this is a great breakfast option. The Confectionery is located right at the entrance of the park, afterall. How convenient is THAT? And don’t forget to use our snack hack – mobile order this one for pickup after the park closes so you can snack on the way back to the hotel! What a great way to bookend your Magic Kingdom day!

Yum!

You can try this one for $5.49. Don’t forget, you can Mobile Order at The Confectionery if the lines get too long!

Warm Cinnamon Roll

Okay, we can’t forget about everyone’s favorite ego-maniac and head on over to Gaston’s Tavern in Fantasyland. No one serves up some exclusive Magic Kingdom treats like Gaston! If you’re looking for a tasty and filling breakfast, try the Warm Cinnamon Roll, but let’s be real, this cinnamon roll is too good to restrict to just one meal.

Gaston’s Tavern

Magic Kingdom takes these gooey treats to the next level. First of all, this cinnamon roll is big – roughly the size of a barge, as Gaston might say! You could definitely split this one between two people or you could eat the entire thing yourself if you want a substantial breakfast that will tide you over until lunchtime. The icing on this cinnamon roll is what really sets it apart from other cinnamon rolls. The thick and creamy icing has a hint of maple flavor, which really compliments the cinnamon flavor.

Cinnamon Roll at Gaston’s Tavern

Special tip? Ask for an extra cup of icing. There’s no guarantee that they’ll have one available, BUT we’ve received one more often than not, and like I’ve said before: More is more when it comes to icing! You can enjoy this one for $6.79.

LeFou’s Brew

If you need something to wash down that colossal cinnamon roll, you need look no further. You can grab a nice, cold non-alcoholic brew, then try LeFou’s BrewLeFou’s Brew is the signature beverage at Gaston’s Tavern.

LeFou’s Brew

This drink is a no-sugar added frozen apple juice that is flavored with marshmallows for sweetness and then topped with creamy passionfruit foam.  Even though it looks like ale, this is a non-alcoholic drink, so this one can be enjoyed by your entire group, including the kiddos. And the foam on the top really does help make the drink look more ale-like. In fact, the kids will REALLY love this one, because the marshmallow makes it very sweet.

A nice foamy top!

They’ll also love this one if they’re big fans of Beauty and the Beast, because this is served in a souvenir LeFou’s Brew Stein featuring Gaston.

The price for this one is $12.99 with the souvenir stein, or you can get this drink without the souvenir stein for $6.29.

Snow White Themed Treats (Seven Dwarfs Cone and Snow White Cone)

The 50th Anniversary Celebration has given us some seriously delicious and Instagram-worthy treats, like the Seven Dwarfs Cone and the Snow White Cone over at Storybook Treats in Fantasyland!

The Seven Dwarfs Cone is a special treat, because it is actually a 7-in-1. There are seven unique soft-serve cones based on each of the Seven Dwarfs that you can find on a rotating basis. The flavors change along with the Dwarfs, so for instance, the Doc Cone is a caramel and chocolate espresso soft serve twist with a yellow white chocolate belt buckle and a Doc medallion all served in a small waffle cone.

The Doc Cone

And what about everyone’s favorite sourpuss? The Grumpy Cone is an unexpectedly delicious cranberry-vanilla swirl.

Grumpy Cone

There is no set schedule for which cone will be available each day, so stop by Storybook Treats to see what the featured cone is during your trip! You can try one of these for $5.99. Want to try one of the fairest cones of them all in Magic Kingdom? It might be the Snow White ConeJust like the Seven Dwarfs Cone, The Snow White Cone can be found at Storybook Treats, but this one is slightly more expensive at $6.49. The Snow White Cone is a lemon Dole Whip in a blue-colored sugar cone topped with a chocolate bird and a sugar bow.

Snow White Cone

It is very cute and it is simple and refreshing! It jumped to the top of our list of favorite 50th Anniversary snacks in Magic Kingdom, so if those flavors sound like something you’d enjoy, so if it’s around during your visit, grab one!

Wendell’s Bear Claw

One of the things that Magic Kingdom does REALLY well is pastries, and this 50th Anniversary pastry is no exception! We’re talking about Wendell’s Bear Claw at Westward Ho Refreshments in Frontierland.

Westward Ho

This is a traditional Bear Claw that is dipped in Chocolate Sauce and sprinkled with Hazelnuts. It was also filled with chocolate, which made this treat even more delicious! In case you didn’t know, a Bear Claw is a yeast-raised pastry, like a type of Danish, in a shape that resembles a bear’s claw. To add to the presentation, it comes served in the new 50th Anniversary paper. We thought this paper was so pretty and festive. We loved this simple but tasty treat, and the texture was nice and flakey.

Wendell’s Bear Claw

We would definitely order this one again, especially with a cup of coffee first thing in the morning! You can enjoy this one for $6.29.

Snacks to Avoid at Magic Kingdom

Churros

Is there a more iconic Disney snack than a churro? In Disneyland, the churro reigns supreme, it’s flavorful, a crisp exterior with a soft sweet inside. But at Disney World? The churro struggles to keep its west coast reputation.

Tropical Serenade Churro

The humidity of the Orlando environment completely changes the texture of this potentially delicious snack. Instead of a tender, chewy center with a sweet, flaky crunch outside, the Orlando churros are denser, harder, and, dare we say, stale-tasting. With so many other tasty snacks to try, we suggest keeping your churro dining to the west coast, and exploring some of the Magic Kingdom’s other options!

Turkey Legs

Yep, we’re going there…. the TURKEY LEG. Okay, okay, so maybe this hunk o’ meat isn’t all bad. In fact, the Turkey Leg has some DIE HARD fans. So, despite the fact that this snack is NOT our team’s favorite and tends to be voted off the island by our readers. You can snag jumbo Turkey Legs at a number of spots around Disney World. This time, we swung by Prince Eric’s Village Market in Magic Kingdom to pick up our $14.49 snack. And if the salty meat stick isn’t enough sodium for you, it also comes with a bag of chips (so make sure you get plenty of water to wash it all down)!

Turkey Leg at Prince Eric’s Village Market

Flavor-wise, the Turkey Leg is very, VERY smoky and meaty in the same way a fatty piece of bacon is. And as soon as you take a bite (and maybe even before), you’ll find your hands and face covered in grease (and your tongue might feel raw from the saltiness). If you’re a serious carnivore, you might still enjoy this meal disguised as a snack, but we think it’s a pass.

Prepackaged Items (When You Can Have Fresh!)

With so many fresh and unique treats to choose from, there’s no need to grab that bag of Lay’s potato chips or Cheetos. You can grab those goodies at home (and probably cheaper)!

Bagged Chips

On a similar note, you may find those pre-packaged krispie treats or caramel apples near the registers in Disney World, sure you’re can grab those if you plan to pack them in your back to take home for a bite of Disney after you have to leave the parks 🥺. But, if you want a delicious treat to enjoy while gazing lovingly up at Cinderella Castle, then don’t get the packaged one.

Disney 100 Krispie Treats Bouquet

Go to the nearest bakery case, like the Main Street Confectionery, Big Top Souvenirs, or Frontier Trading Post, and select your treat from one of the fresh-made treats in the bakery case. They’re just fresher and better!

Corn Dog Nuggets

Say what?! You had to double-take that, didn’t you? The beloved Corn Dog Nuggies made the “avoid list”? What multiverse have we slipped into? DFB has long toted the love for these golden, fried corn dog bites, so why would we tell you to avoid them?

The vessel for our plastic cheeeeese

Now, we still love us some corn dog nuggies, those and some plastic cheese just make our hearts happy. BUT if you’re wanting a full corn dog experience, then you should head over to Sleepy Hollow Refreshments for a full-blown, hand-dipped, fried-on-order Corn Dog!!

Golden fried perfection

Though, we still recommend getting a side of plastic cheese from Casey’s to go with your Sleepy Hollow corn dog, because plastic cheese is the quintessential condiment.

Popcorn

Now you’re really wondering which multiverse you’re in, right? But popcorn is an iconic Disney snack!! How could we say to avoid it?!

Popcorn Cart

Now, hear us out, we’re not saying it isn’t delicious (though some batches are better than others), and we’re not saying it isn’t an affordable option to get a little snack fix, BUT you can get popcorn ANYWHERE. You can get it at any movie theater, at any theme park, sports event, or even your own microwave. So why waste valuable stomach real estate on such a common snack?

Popcorn

Save that tummy space for something you can ONLY get in Magic Kingdom, like the Wendell’s Bear Claw, the Tropical Serenade, or any of the other items we just talked about!

So what’d you think? Did our list convince you that Magic Kingdom has way more than just your average theme park food? We still LOVE the standard theme park items, like a basic krispie treat or buttered popcorn, but when we want something interesting and different, these are our go-tos!

Oh, the pure bliss of a Cheshire Cat Tail

We only covered a handful of Magic Kingdom’s snacks today, but did you know there are over 200 SNACKS that you can potentially choose from?! To learn more about ALL of these Magic Kingdom treats and eats, you need to the DFB Guide to Magic Kingdom Snacks!
