Work continues in Universal’s Islands of Adventure on fixing the hole in the show building of Jurassic Park River Adventure that was created by Hurricane Ian last fall.
The attraction is currently closed for an overall refurbishment. We noticed the Jurassic Park logo had been removed from this warning sign, likely to be fixed up or replaced. Some rumors speculate that it may be turned into the Jurassic World version, but unless it was changing in name only, it would need a longer refurbishment to match the version at Universal Studios Hollywood.
There is scaffolding at the bottom of the show building, where boats splash down at the bottom of a hill.
The hole is further up the building, on the side. After cutting away some of the broken paneling, crew members are now placing new weather-proof sheathing over the opening. The damage didn’t affect the operation of the attraction, but still needed to be repaired.
We saw two crew members working in a cherry-picker to place the yellow paneling over the steel supports.
Jurassic Park River Adventure is scheduled to reopen on February 4, 2023.
