Walt Disney World is donating $500,000 total to five Central Florida conservation organizations, bringing their total donations to Florida nonprofits since the start of the 50th anniversary celebration to more than $6 million.
The grant recipients are Conservation Florida, Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation, The Nature Conservancy, Trout Lake Nature Center, and Wekiva Wilderness Trust. Each organization will receive $100,000.
The money will help expand land protection initiatives, ensure healthy tree canopy coverage in underserved communities, find solutions to clean drinking water for those in need, and fund educational opportunities for youth.
This is part of the Disney Planet Possible initiative, which focuses on sustainability, conservation, and storytelling to make the world a better place.
