Universal Orlando Resort has announced the upcoming refurbishment dates for Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
The attraction will be closed from February 21 through March 5, 2023.
We earlier reported on the rumor that the ride would close for refurbishment soon. During Hurricane Ian in September 2022, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure sustained damage. While it did not cause the ride to close, part of the queue has been diverted. A section of ramp in the queue has been blocked off with temporary walls and scrim. A bridge takes guests over a stone wall through trees to bypass that section. We’ve also seen some barricades on the inside walls near the coaster track while on the ride.
The coaster opened in June 2019 and replaced Dragon Challenge in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade. Since then, it’s had a fair share of operational issues and temporary closures due to fires, bee infestations, and more.
