ESPN Club at the Boardwalk used to be the go-to spot to watch the biggest football game of the year. Now that it no longer exists and is being torn apart, we should look at other places where guests can watch the Super Bowl.
This year the big game will take place on Sunday, February 12th, 2023. It is time to start planning and making any necessary reservations for that day. We are here to help you narrow down the places to pick from.
The Newest Sports Bar at Disney
If you want to feel immersed in all the action and enjoy elevated bar food, go to City Works at Disney Springs. This dining location is filled with TVs on every wall. It’s a very popular place for guests that enjoy watching sports. The past few weeks it has been filled with fans watching the playoffs. Not only do they have what seems like a million TVs they also have an array of local beers and ciders to try. The food menu is pretty impressive; I would say it’s a level above what you’d expect at a typical sports bar.
Relax & Enjoy the Game at Your Disney Resort
This is an excellent option for guests who enjoy planning last minute or want to stay at their resort and relax. Almost every resort lounge bar on Disney property will have the game playing. With this option, you’ll be close to your room, so if your team happens to lose, you won’t have a long walk of shame.
Visit a Resort Sports Bar
If you prefer a smaller sports bar, you can make your way to Rix Sports Bar & Grill at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. The menu isn’t out of this world, but it’s a more low-key sports bar that sits right outside the convention center. They have a good amount of TVs placed throughout the restaurant. This is a good option if you want to watch the game as a family in a place that isn’t packed.
Venture Off Property
There are plenty of sports bars outside of Walt Disney World. Five minutes away from Disney Springs, guests can find an Ale House, but from my experience, that place fills up quickly, making it hard to watch the game comfortably. If you want to stay in that theme park atmosphere but not at Disney, head over to CityWalk at Universal; they have a few options. Another off-property option not too far away is the Promenade at Sunset Walk, which is part of the Margaritaville Resort.
Play a Round of Bowling While Cheering for Your Team
Splitsville Luxury Lanes is another excellent place at Disney Springs to watch the game. They have TVs everywhere, delicious food, and fun cocktails. This is a great spot to bring the whole family, especially if a few members aren’t interested in watching. Those uninterested can enjoy the bowling alley feature of the restaurant while those who are sports fans watch the game.
We hope this list helped you and your travel group plan the perfect Super Bowl watch party. Do you have a favorite place to watch the big game at Disney World? Let us know in the comments! For those of you who don’t watch football, I highly recommend going to the parks while the game is going on. I did that one year, and almost all the rides were between a 5 to 15-minute wait.
