Magic Kingdom
- As the removal of Splash Mountain continues at the Magic Kingdom, signs referencing the Laughin’ Place and Br’er Rabbit have been removed from the play area next to the former ride.
- Over at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, the beloved Sonny Eclipse animatronic has been covered behind curtains for about ten days now, leading to questions about where he’s gone!
EPCOT
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
- A digital sign has been installed on Buena Vista Drive, used to access most of the EPCOT-area resort hotels.
- D23 Gold members will be able to experience a special pop-up shop selling Walt Disney Imagineering-exclusive merchandise next month at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
- The next phase of refurbishment for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village will begin early next month.
Disney Springs
- Disney Springs is launching a new lineup of Saturday morning entertainment designed for families with children called Disney Springs Kids Club, and we have a look at the initial lineup.
New Merchandise
- Just for kids, a new Pirates of the Caribbean dig kit with “discoverable” treasures is now available at the Magic Kingdom.
- Fans of pink won’t want to miss the new pink corduroy Minnie ear headband we found, also at the Magic Kingdom!
- Feeling down about the 50th Anniversary coming to a close? Celebrate with this new Grand Finale Mickey plush now on sale.
- New MagicBand+ designs themed to Dumbo, Marvel, and Annual Passholders are all now available.
- A new Fantasyland-themed PopSocket popped up at the Magic Kingdom.
- We just can’t get enough of the 25th Anniversary “Castle Cake” merchandise, with a new all-pink T-shirt debuting today!
Disneyland Resort
- The free-for-all on Magic Keys may be coming to an end, the lowest “Imagine” tier has sold out for now.
- A new Disney100 display featuring the classic Alice Comedies has gone up at the Disneyland Hotel.
- Construction on the Pacific Wharf transformation into San Fransokyo has begun in earnest at Disney California Adventure.
- Yodel-odel-oo, a new Matterhorn Bobsleds-themed shirt has arrived at the Disneyland Resort!
- If you’re looking to chow down on some classic treats, the new Disney100 candy apple and Minnie cake pop are already available for sale resort-wide.
- The beloved Emporium window displays have been updated for the Disney100 celebration as well.
- Disney shared a look today at the references to Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway project Imagineers hidden in the queue.
Disneyland Paris
- A new vinyl record is available with hits from Disneyland Paris past and present to celebrate the 30th Anniversary Grand Finale!
Entertainment & Media
- By an incredibly wide margin, “Encanto” topped Nielsen’s movie streaming rankings for 2022, with other Disney flicks placing at the top as well.
- Casting has been announced for two of the Gods in the upcoming “Percy Jackson” series coming to Disney+ next year.
The Walt Disney Company
- A slew of Disney100 Funko Pops were revealed today, several featuring caricatures of Walt Disney himself!
