Disney’s Boardwalk Resort now has a small café located right off their main lobby. This space previously occupied Dundy’s Sundries.
The Carousel Café’ has strikingly limited theming despite the fun name. The inside is very bland, almost hospital-like but does serve Joffrey’s Coffee, bakery items, and bottled beverages.
The machines and Baristas are top-notch, expertly crafting the type of drinks you would expect from a Starbucks-type establishment. The space most closely resembles Le Petit Café’ at Disney’s Riviera Resort but with much less visual appeal.
Across the way is a generously spaced resting area with ample seating and small round tables. Again, very functional and welcomed but reminiscent of a hospital waiting room. As I truly enjoyed my Cinnamon Iced Coffee, I could not help but feel like I was waiting for a doctor to come out and give me results for someone I was visiting.
The area is brand new, and I hope they just wanted to open it fast and add some layers of Imagineering later to make it feel more like a part of the Boardwalk Resort.
