We hope you have a pen and paper because it’s time to take some NOTES!
Notes about FOOD, of course! EPCOT’s 2023 Festival of the Arts is officially underway and we’ve been eating and drinking our way around this festival. From full menus for ALL of the Festival booths to a complete list of the concerts you’ll be able to catch, we’ve got you covered! Now, we’re taking you on a food adventure through the Pastoral Palate booth. Find out whether you should visit or skip this booth!
Menu
You’ll find Pastoral Palate over in Germany, and it was a favorite of ours from last year! You’ll find hearty Bavarian food at this booth.
But enough talking, let’s get to EATING!
Eats
Two food items on the menu this year are returning — but that is definitely not a bad thing! The Red Wine-braised Beef Short Rib with parsnip purée, broccolini, baby tomatoes, and aged balsamic is $8.50 this year. We’ve always been fans of this dish because the beef here is always so tender and the flavors are just PERFECT.
This year was no different, and we’d put this dish in the running for this year’s Best of the Fest. The short ribs were full of flavor and not too salty — the red wine glaze was delicious. The parsnip purée was super creamy and smooth, and when combined with the tomatoes was a really great flavor combination. We thought the broccoli needed a bit of salt, but it was cooked well and not too mushy.

You can also grab the exciting Wild Boar Cassoulet with duck confit, ham hock, and wild boar sausage for $9.25. In the past, we liked the wild boar sausage a lot. It had a ton of flavor, and it was also super filling. The ham hock was pretty good as well, but we weren’t big fans of the beans.
We thought this was a really hearty dish — in fact, the plate itself was pretty heavy. There was a ton of flavor to the sausage, but it was a little dry and tough texture-wise. The duck confit was flavorful and salty — overall, this was a really flavorful, hearty dish and something a little bit different than other booth offerings!

We saved the best for last — the NEW Black Forest Cake is made with a chocolate mousse with morello cherries and Chantilly cream for $4.75.
Talk about chocolatey! This was so rich but light at the same time. The chocolate shell just melts in your mouth, and the cinnamon on top of the Chantilly cream adds just a hint of something extra to the chocolate flavor. We love that the cherries were served on the side so you can control how much you’re getting in each bite — which for us, was all of them.

You’ll also find plenty to whet your whistle with here!
Drinks
There are quite a few rosé drinks available at this booth, including the Old Vine Rosé for $5.50, the Rosé Hard Cider and the Rosé Blonde Ale, which are both $5.50 for 6oz and $9.50 for 12oz. We really liked the flight when we’ve tried it in the past!
The Frozen Rosé is $7, or you can get a mix with the Play on Rosé Flight for $11.
OVERALL
If you’re looking for hearty dishes and something sweet to wash it all down, give Pastoral Palate a try! The short ribs are almost always a safe bet and have made our Best of the Fest contenders yet again, and we really enjoyed the boar again this year. Rosé fans will also want to stop by this booth for a pretty decent selection of drinks!
