Back when my kids were a lot younger, I would’ve told you that every day was National Plan for Vacation Day in my house had it been a thing back then. Now that we are living back on the west coast and not within driving distance of a Disney theme park, planning vacations is likely to become more of a thing around here, and today feels like the right day to start.
There are so many options to choose from when it comes to Disney vacations. There is always Disneyland or Walt Disney World right here in the U.S., but now that our kids are adults, trying out something new might be just the thing. Over the years, I’ve seen and heard such amazing things about the Disney theme parks in Tokyo, and I’ve always wanted to go. There are similar attractions there, but also some very different ones. The best part is that they’re from Disney stories that we all know and love, so albeit in a different part of the world, they’re still somewhat familiar.
Of course, we all love riding rides and hugging Disney characters, but maybe it’s time to see more of the world we live in with an Adventures by Disney vacation. I used to have their Danube River Cruise at the very top of my bucket list because my grandmother grew up in Budapest, Hungary, and I’d like to go there as an adult. When I was 13, my grandparents took me there, and it’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. In fact, I just found the little photo album they made for me with all of the super-grainy pictures that bring back the most lovely memories.
A cruise down the Seine River in France has now moved into my top spot (thanks to 3 seasons of Emily in Paris on Netflix…ahem). I feel like my most glorious vacation would be the 8-day/7-night cruise followed by a week or so in Paris, then a visit to Disneyland Paris as the cherry on top.
Had we not been so wrapped up in getting ready to move across the country since late summer 2022, that trip may have been in the planning stages by now for our 30th wedding anniversary coming up in a few months. Maybe today is the day to get to work on it?
I’m wondering if any of you have a dream vacation that you might want to get started with the planning on? Please share your thoughts in the comments section on where you’d love to go and why.
