Part of the sign for Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. at Magic Kingdom has been covered, suggesting the store may get a new name to match its new theming.
The store is the Space Mountain gift shop but is being refurbished to also be the TRON Lightcycle / Run gift shop. It has been closed since August, with the exit of Space Mountain re-routed.
“Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.” is carved into the building above the doors, but “Tomorrowland” is now covered by a black tarp.
“Light & Power Co.” remains visible.
As the name suggests, the rough theme of Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. was that of a power company in the city of Tomorrowland.
Here is a photo from October, showing “Tomorrowland” above the lefthand doors, as well as the gear clock, electrical tower mural, and sign reading “Generating a Bright New Tomorrow,” which were all removed in December.
Disney has not announced a reopening date for Tomorrowland Light & Power Co., but TRON Lightcycle / Run will open on April 4.
