Proof That Not Every Disneyland Churro Can Be Perfect

Why are our tongues stained purple?

Look at that medallion!

Well, that’s because it’s time for Disneyland’s big celebration for the 100th Anniversary of the Walt Disney Company. So we’re AT Disneyland checking out the new nighttime shows, all kinds of celebratory souvenirs, and — as you might expect, FOOD! Here’s the thing — a LOT of that food is purple, including a snack we’re trying RIGHT NOW.

Okay, let’s dig in. Disneyland is KNOWN for its amazing churros, so we’re going to try a SPECIAL churro, the Disney100 Churro, which is a classic Disneyland Churro rolled in cherry sugar served with white icing and topped with purple and silver pearls.

It’s purple and silver

You can pick up this snack for $6.75 at the Town Square and Tomorrowland Churro Carts in Disneyland. So what did we think? So here’s the thing — we really didn’t get a lot of the cherry flavor, although there is still a HINT of its sweetness when you bite into the churro. When you dip the churro in the icing, you get a sweet vanilla taste.

The dip

However, the churro we got wasn’t fresh, which means it was kinda’ cold and stale. Generally, churros are served when they’re still warm, which makes them much better. So we don’t know what happened there, but we would’ve preferred those flavors on a fresher churro.

We’ll be trying ALL the 100th anniversary treats in Disneyland today, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more reviews!
