It was a rough night for the cartoon concessions stand inside Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, which just opened at Disneyland.
Some of the neon letters of the “Concessions” sign burnt out.
Only “con” and “ions” was lit when we went through the queue. This isn’t surprising as real neon is liable to burn out frequently, and though the ride only opened to the public a couple of days ago, there were media previews before that and the sign has likely been on for a while. Fortunately, the sign is still legible even if the letters aren’t lit.
Unfortunately, it seems a guest has stolen a prop from the counter of condiments. A pepper shaker is now missing.
There are just three holes and a patch of missing paint where the shaker used to be. Someone would have had to use a considerable amount of force to remove the prop.
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disneyland is in the new El CapiTOON Theater, which features the Mickey Through the Ears exhibit as well as the fake concessions stand and several parody movie posters. Check out our tour of the theater and ride.
