Anniversaries can be cheesy sometimes, but for Disney 100 Years of Wonder, Hungry Bear Restaurant in Disneyland has taken it one step further with the new Potato & Cheddar Cheeseburger! But is this a dud spud? Let’s find out!
Potato & Cheddar Cheeseburger – $15.49
1/3 lb Angus Chuck Patty, Green Chile and Bacon Cheddar Sauce and Spicy Crispy Potato Planks on a Brioche Bun, served with choice of Cuties Mandarin Oranges or French Fries
This one has too much potato and not enough cheeseburger.
The breakfast hash browns served on the burger overpower everything, even the slightly spicy cheese sauce. It all just tastes like a fried lump.
Removing one of the hash brown patties helps to balance out the flavors a little bit more and let the cheese and beef shine through, but it’s still so fried-forward that it’s borderline unpleasant.
It’s fine, and if we were in the mood for just fries but needed something more substantial, this would be an acceptable choice. But as it stands, it’s just too overpowering to be truly enjoyable.
The cheeseburger joins the Lemon Chiffon Pie, which debuted on the menu earlier this month.
