REVIEW: L’Arte di Mangiare Disappoints with New Menu For the 2023 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts

It’s the start of the new year, so we’re deciding to be hopeful and go into the Italy-themed booth, L’Arte di Mangiare, available during the 2023 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, with positive attitudes and open minds. For the 2023 festival, the food menu is completely new, however, the beverage menu remains the same from previous years.

*NEW* Mozzarella Fritta: Flash-Fried Breaded Fresh Mozzarella with Artist Palette Condiments – $8.25

This comes on a “palette” with an assortment of dipping sauces. The green sauce is pesto, while the brown is balsamic vinegar, possibly a glaze. The red sauce tasted like marinara to us. The pink sauce is an aioli.

There’s nothing special about this. The breading is of a poor quality. The cheese isn’t memorable, though the presentation is fun. We’d pass on this. It’s just not worthwhile.

*NEW* Ravioli ai Funghi, Perle Tartufate: Wild Mushroom-Stuffed Pasta with Truffle Butter and Truffle Pearls – $9.25

The mushroom filling is good, though that’s about the highlight of the dish. There’s a slightly off-putting flavor that lingers, and it might be from the truffle pearls.

The sauce is not terribly good. It’s reminiscent of something you might get at Olive Garden. Ultimately, our group was divided on the truffle pearls.

All in all, we didn’t really care for this and don’t really recommend it.

*NEW* Budino al Cioccolato: Chocolate Pudding with Colorful Chocolate Décor – $8.00

budino al cioccolato 1

This tasted like straight-up Jell-O chocolate pudding.

The consistency is incredibly weird. It’s gritty and not smooth at all.

We actually would prefer chocolate Jell-O pudding. At least we know what we’re getting with that.

Skip this one; it’s terrible.

Peroni Pilsner (5.1% ABV) – $6.50 for 6 oz., $10.75 for 12 oz.

Peroni Brewery describes their beer as “a crisp and refreshing beer with a delicate balance of bitterness, citrus and spicy aromatic notes, combined with a fast and clean finish.”

Italian White Sangria – $11.75

Usually, when a Sangria beverage of this price contains more juice than wine, we would complain. However, since the wine in this drink tasted particularly cheap and unpleasant, in this case it was somewhat of a relief. The drink was supposed to contain Prosecco, however this was unidentifiable from the lack of fizz in the drink.

Italian Red Sangria – $11.75

Have you ever put red wine in the microwave? That’s what this is. We thought sangria came with ice and fruit, but this was just a room temperature liquid. The flavor was fruity, so it could have been really good, but as it got hotter, it was just too warm to drink.

Italian Margarita with Tequila and Limoncello – $11.75

Tuscany Booth Festival of the Holidays 20191

The margarita was quite good as it tasted almost like a melting lemon ice dessert. However, there didn’t seem to be much liquor in the drink, as we didn’t taste much besides the faint hint of tequila. Overall, this is a tasty drink, but don’t expect to get much alcohol for your money here.

Amaretto Bellini: DISARONNO Originale Liqueur ($27/bottle), White Peach Purée and Prosecco – $13.75

I’m not sure there was much alcohol in our pour, so it tasted a little off. You might think it would be sweet given the amaretto and prosecco, but it wasn’t at all.
