Grilled Kebabs with Carrot-Chickpea Salad and Garlic Aïoli (Chermoula Chicken, Moroccan-Spiced Lamb) – $5.75

2022 Food Wine Festival Tangierine Cafe 6

This is thigh meat chicken, nicely seasoned. The salad is raisin, chickpea, and shredded carrots, topped with garlic aioli. The chicken is nicely cooked. Seasoned perfectly, but not hot. The slaw is the perfect complement with its sweetness.

The lamb has quite a kick to it. It’s a tender and well-cooked, hearty kebab. Both options are great.

Stone-Baked Moroccan Bread with Hummus, Chermoula and Zhoug Dip – $5.00

The orange sauce is the zhoug. It’s tangy and spiced at the same time, slightly reminiscent of a tomato sauce. The chermoula is green, and contains herbs and aioli. The cream-colored one is the hummus. It’s tangy, but still pretty good. If you want a really superb hummus, go to Sanaa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, but this one is still good all the same.

We enjoyed this, but wish there was more bread to go with the dips.

Carrots Three Ways: Chermoula-Spiced Grilled Carrots, Pickled Carrots and Carrot Ginger Purée – $4.25

This was awful. Everything is bland and over-salted. There is nothing remarkable about any of the three takes on the vegetable, all of which anyone could prepare at home easily.

House-Made Crispy Almond Phyllo Pockets with White Chocolate Pomegranate and Milk Chocolate Orange – $4.75

This is a top three festival dessert. Served warm, it has tons of almond filling in a crispy shell that is accented with sweet sugar. The sauces underneath add some necessary sweet and fruity flavors, making for one of the most profound desserts of the entire festival.

*NEW* Chai Tea Mint Sparkler: Twinings® Chai Tea with Sprite® (Non-Alcoholic) – $4.50

The Sprite in this is very masked.

The chai tea is pleasant but we didn’t really feel the carbonation like we usually get drinking Sprite.

All in all, it’s not bad, but also not what we expected.

*NEW* Stem Ciders Flockstar Hard Cider, Denver, CO (5.6% ABV) – $5.50 for 6 oz., $9.50 for 12 oz.

Stem Ciders says this semi-dry cider is made with “apples, watermelon, cucumber and hibiscus,” adding it has “fun layers of refreshing sunny flavors.”

*NEW* Blake’s Hard Cider Co. Mule de Pomme: Pomegranate, Ginger and Lime Hard Cider, Armada, MI (6.5% ABV) – $5.50 for 6 oz., $9.50 for 12 oz.

From Blake’s Hard Cider Co.: “Dim the lights, pour over ice, and set the mood for this hard cider twist on a fruited Mule. Juicy pomegranate, bold lime, and a kick of ginger make Mule De Pomme, Mule de-sired. Copper mug not required.”

3 Daughters Brewing Chai Hard Cider, St. Petersburg, FL (5.5% ABV) – $5.50 for 6 oz., $9.50 for 12 oz.

From correspondence with 3 Daughters Brewing: “Aromas of cardamom, cinnamon, clove and ginger swirl perfectly making this Chai hard cider very well balanced for the season and leave you wanting more.”

*NEW* Chai Tea Mint Mimosa: Twinings of London® Chai Tea with Key Lime Sparkling Wine and Mint – $11.50

The Chai Tea Mint Mimosa was very good, made of high-quality sparkling wine with mint undertones. The most prevalent flavor is the chai, which we truly enjoyed.
