Something Is MISSING From This New Disney Treat

It wouldn’t be a celebration of Disney history if no one acknowledged Mary Poppins! The iconic titular character from one of Disney’s most popular films can sometimes be seen inside the parks, and even has her own bakery on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland.

We’re back at Jolly Holiday

Right now Disney is celebrating its 100th Anniversary at the Disneyland resort, where guests can enjoy new nighttime shows, purchase collectibles, and try out lots of treats! Jolly Holiday Bakery, the Mary Poppins-themed locale for tasty snacks, is one spot where you can find 100th Anniversary items. You can view a FULL  list of all of the 100th Anniversary treats in Disneyland here, but keep reading to see what we thought of these new snacks!

On Main Street, U.S.A. stands a beautiful Edwardian building with fun details fans of the film will appreciate, like penguin stained glass windows. If you are in the mood for a sweet treat or a spot of tea Jolly Holiday Bakery and Cafe is the place to go!

We’ve had some epic treats at Jolly Holiday!

For the 100th Anniversary, this Main Street staple has introduced two new menu items. First up is the Platinum Trifle for $8.49, which features layers of chocolate cookie crumbles, cheesecake, cherry compote, chocolate cookie mousse, and crème fraîche chantilly with crunch pearls and a chocolate piece. Okay, so here’s the photo Disney posted when this treat was announced:

And here’s what it looks like. Something is missing! That’s right, the chocolate piece/medallion is missing. Instead, we just got the decorative pearls. Interesting.

Um…where’s our pretty medallion?

Obviously, we ate it anyway because that’s what we do. We liked the flavor of the cherry compote — it tasted like fresh cherries and not artificial flavoring. The chocolate cookie mousse was SO rich, but gave us cookies and cream flavor vibes.

Still tasty

The cheesecake added even more sweetness to the dessert and combined, it made the whole thing taste decadent. If you’re not looking for a super rich snack, this might not be for you.

It’s very rich

You can also find this dessert at Galactic Grill in Disneyland and Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Café, and Pacific Wharf Café at Disney California Adventure.

You can also find the Mr. Banks Shortbread Tart here, which honors the patriarch of 17 Cherry Tree Lane. Caramel and chocolate ganache are included within a shortbread tart, with purple-colored white chocolate mousse, sea salt, edible silver stars, and silver crunch pearls for $6.49. However, we didn’t get a chance to try it yet, because it was sold out — but we’ll be back soon with a review, we promise!
