The Splash Mountain pressed penny machine that was previously removed as construction walls went up is now available again.
The machine is still underneath the Frontierland railroad station but in a slightly different spot.
This pressed penny machine was actually only installed in September 2020, months after it was first announced the attraction would be rethemed.
It has a Big Thunder Mountain Railroad penny design, as well as three Splash Mountain penny designs.
The Splash Mountain pennies feature Mickey and Minnie, Br’er Rabbit, and a vulture.
We got some pennies for our collection.
A pressed penny machine has also been moved to the restrooms building behind the railroad station.
This machine only has three designs, including two Splash Mountain ones.
The Splash Mountain designs feature characters riding the water ride. The other design is a 50th anniversary penny featuring Timothy Q. Mouse.
This machine was previously inside Splashdown Photos. A day before Splash Mountain closed, we saw guests lining up for the other pressed penny machine in Splashdown Photos, which featured six Frontierland designs.
Yesterday, Laughin’ Place signage was removed from the nearby play area. Splash Mountain references have also been removed from the Walt Disney World Railroad and the Liberty Square Riverboat.

Construction walls around Splash Mountain reference Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which has also been added to the Magic Kingdom virtual map.
Disney says that in the upcoming attraction, guests will “join Princess Tiana and jazz-loving alligator Louis during Mardi Gras season as they prepare to host a one-of-a-kind celebration for the people of New Orleans.” It’s scheduled to open in late 2024.
