If there’s one thing Disney World has plenty of, it’s magical moments. Walking down Main Street, U.S.A., for the first time on your vacation, biting into a Mickey pretzel, taking off on Rock ‘n Rollercoaster, and watching fireworks at night are just a few of our favorites.

Today, we ran into one of our favorite details in the parks, and we wanted to tell you about it so that you know to watch out for it on your next vacation!

We were in Disney’s Hollywood Studios today when we came across this simple set-up in front of the Chinese Theater. On the ground, there’s a small box made out of tape, and 2 Cast Members were standing nearby. If you’re a seasoned Disney pro, you may already know where we’re going with this.

This is a clap box! But what exactly IS a clap box, you may ask? Well, any time a guest stands inside that square outlined in tape, the Cast Members will clap for them! Whether you stand there for a long time or just briefly walk through the box, you’ll get a little round of applause just for being in the right place at the right time.

We’ve seen clap boxes all throughout Disney World at different times. Often, Cast Members will set them up outside of a ride that’s been temporarily closed for some reason. It’s just a fun way for Cast Members to interact with guests, and it makes us smile every time we walk through one. Thanks to Cast Members Kinder and Jim for making our day today!
