How often do you rely on Disney World transportation?
Monorail at EPCOT
It certainly makes things convenient just to be able to hop on a bus, the Monorail, the Skyliner, or a boat to get to where you’re going, right? But what happens when one of those is down? Today, TWO of those modes of transportation are down!
Okay, so we already told you about the Skyliner being closed resort-wide for refurbishment. But today, another mode of transportation, the Monorail, is also closed — at least at EPCOT. When we arrived at EPCOT this morning, we saw signs alerting us to this closure.
The EPCOT Monorail is down
We spoke with a Cast Member who told us that the Monorail is expected to be closed at EPCOT ALL day, so if you were planning on using it to get around from there, you’ll have to make alternate plans. We were told that guests traveling from EPCOT to Magic Kingdom would be able to get there via bus.
Over in EPCOT, the Monorail is down meaning guests must use bus transportation (remember, the Skyliner is ALSO down for scheduled maintenance right now too)

This closure also seems that it could be resort-wide. We also noticed that the Monorail was closed at the Ticket and Transportation Center to get to Magic Kingdom.

These things DO happen occasionally, so it’s important to have an alternate plan for transportation if you need it. If you don’t want to take a bus, you can always pay for a rideshare to get from EPCOT to Magic Kingdom. We’ll continue to keep an eye on the situation and let you know if and when the Monorail at EPCOT becomes available again. So stay tuned to DFB for more.
