More Mardi Gras food booths have popped up in Universal Studios Florida ahead of February 4, but it looks like Islands of Adventure might be offering a taste of Mardi Gras, too. We’ve spotted new details on the booths at Universal Studios Florida as well as 2 food booths over in Universal’s Islands of Adventure. That’s a surprise! If you’re a foodie, the discount food and beverage card is the best way to experience everything Mardi Gras has to offer. Menus haven’t officially been announced yet, but we found a few clues while visiting the parks today. Let’s take a look.
Next to Gramercy Park, in front of construction walls where the pizza cart used to stand, is this red and black food booth. This is right across from the location of the old Tribute Store. In case you missed it, the Tribute Store has moved for Mardi Gras.
Thanks to labels on the equipment that has been moved into the booths, we now know what some of the booths are. This one is for Puerto Rico.
This food truck across from Revenge of the Mummy was labeled “Canada”. This truck previously sold the macaroni and cheese options and Philly sandwiches from the holidays, so we’re eager to see what this new menu will offer.
In Sting Alley, the Meetz Locker from Halloween Horror Nights has new purple neon lighting and will be themed to Japan. We squealed with delight when we spotted the bubble waffle makers and what appears to be a soft serve machine, confirming that our beloved Ube ice cream will be returning in some way. This was the highlight of our Mardi Gras last year and we can’t wait to have it again. And again and again. Check out our review of the bubble waffles from last year.
This tent near Starbucks has been dressed up with a new façade. It has black columns, purple shutters, and a stripe of fake brick along the bottom.
The tents next to the lagoon in the San Francisco section also have themed façades now. Unfortunately, there weren’t too many clues aside from the detailing. We’ve got some guesses, but let’s hope we don’t have to wait to long for the official announcements.
The stand closest to Chez Alcatraz is red and cream-colored with a stripe of latticework around the bottom.
Next door is a tan colored booth with an orange base. This is the booth closest to Lombard’s Seafood Grille.
This stand in front of Animal Actors On Location! is white, green, and blue. We would say it’s located next to the KidZone sign, but KidZone has closed permanently.
The window on the side of Cafe La Bamba will be used for Mardi Gras and was labeled as Mexico. We can’t wait to try this booth, especially after trying the new menu at Cafe la Bamba. It’s open for non-VIP guests, so check it out!
Over in Universal’s Islands of Adventure, we saw two booths in Port of Entry, near the lagoon. Islands of Adventure usually doesn’t participate in Mardi Gras, so the addition of these booths is huge news.
This purple booth is near The Incredible Hulk Coaster. The façade is designed to resemble one of the iconic balcony houses found throughout New Orleans. It has yellow shutters on the real window and green shutters on the fake windows above.
This booth has a similar design, but with the green and purple swapped. It’s on the Seuss Landing side of Port of Entry.
These two booths may be for some Mardi Gras staples, like jambalaya and sweet treats. Stay tuned for menus!
