There’s a SECRET Hiding Inside the Minnie Mouse Cake in Magic Kingdom

It’s the beginning of a new year, and we’re already starting to see a few new snacks popping up in Disney World.

Gaston’s Tavern

And you know us, we LIVE for new drinks and snacks! We’ll be up to our eyeballs in new ones next week at the 2023 EPCOT Festival of the Arts. But just this week alone we’ve tried a new Haunted Mansion-themed treat, a new Seven Dwarfs cone, and more! Now there’s ANOTHER new snack in Magic Kingdom, so come along with us as we try it!

Okay, so we’re headed on over to Gaston’s Tavern (home of our favorite cinnamon roll in Disney World) to try a new dome cake. We’ve had a few here over the past year, including a Mickey Dome Cake, Pluto Dome Cake, a Donald Dome Cake, and a Goofy Dome Cake. Well now, we’re down to the last of the Fab Five. So now we present…the Minnie Dome Cake. It’s even rocking Minnie’s dots and bow!

So VERY Minnie!

The Minnie Dome Cake is made with a vanilla citrus mousse with a strawberry glaze on top of pistachio cake, and dark chocolate ear coins. Let’s start with the mousse — it’s light and creamy with a citrusy kick. The pistachio cake also had a really good flavor, but it was mild. The chocolate ears are made with dark chocolate, so make a note if you don’t like a more bitter chocolate.

Insta-worthy snack

In the center was a layer of strawberry jam that isn’t exactly mentioned in the description, but we’re not complaining because it was YUMMY. We even asked a Cast Member and they weren’t sure why it wasn’t in the description. But we loved the nice surprise! It had a good natural strawberry taste, unlike the glaze on top which tasted artificial. This does mean this thing tastes HEAVILY of strawberry, so you’ll need to love strawberry flavors to appreciate it.

A peek inside

Overall, though, this is a pretty solid dome cake, strawberry overload and all. You can get it now for $8.29. Yes, it’s a little pricey, but the size is decent, so we’ll give it that. We’ll keep trying all the new snacks that arrive in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more reviews.
