Following a snow plowing accident on New Year’s Day, the family and a representative of Jeremy Renner have released a joint statement regarding the Marvel star’s current condition.
Around 9 a.m. on January 1, Renner, who is perhaps best known for playing Marvel’s “Hawkeye,” suffered a traumatic snowplowing injury near his home in the Mount Rose – Ski Tahoe area near Reno, Nevada. The Oscar-Nominated Marvel Cinematic Universe actor has since undergone surgery and remains in the intensive care unit in stable, but critical condition.
“We can confirm that Jeremy has suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries and has undergone surgery today, January 2, 2023. He has returned from surgery and remains in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition,” the statement from Renner’s family reads.
“Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families. They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”
According to reporting from TMZ, Renner was reportedly plowing snow when his leg became trapped under the plowing machinery, known as a Snowcat. His neighbor quickly arrived on the scene and was able to apply a tourniquet until paramedics arrived, the reporting says.
Our thoughts remain with Renner and his family during this time.
