Are you ready to check out a NEW snack in Disney World?
There are tons of new treats and snacks at the parks for Black History Month, and we’re trying out a whole bunch of them. We’ve already had a fantastic cake, some amazing comfort food, and a beautifully CHEESY lunch. Come with us to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to try another new dish that puts a unique spin on a classic theme park food!
We’re heading to the Dockside Diner right on the edge of Echo Lake to try out the South African Hot Dog!
This hot dog is a South African boerie topped with sweet and spicy chakalaka relish on a brioche bun served with house-made chips. You can get it now for $12.99.
So this was a BIG hit for us. The relish on top was sweet and tangy and paired really well with the sausage, which had a lot of herbs and spices. We weren’t 100% sure what those spices are, but we got hints of coriander, cloves, and maybe even allspice. Whatever they were, they were PERFECT.
For those worrying about spiciness, we didn’t think this was TOO spicy, although those who have an aversion to spicy foods might still want to steer clear. The textures were okay, but we kinda’ wish the dog itself were a little juicier. We also thought the bun was a little dry, but it held up great for the hot dog.
The chips were basic, but they were homemade, so they’re pretty good chips.
If you want to try the new hot dog, you can head to Dockside Diner and get it now through February 28th for $12.29. And don’t forget that this restaurant has Mobile Order available so that you can skip the line when getting your lunch!
