All of the rugs in the lobby of the Great Ceremonial House at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort have been replaced with new blue and orange floral rugs.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has been undergoing a refurbishment and reimagining over the past few years, with a new Monorail station, updated Disney Vacation Club deluxe studios, “Moana”-themed rooms, and updated main entrance.
These new rugs are just a minor detail in the ongoing update to the resort.
They are in seating areas of the lobby, with couches, chairs, and tables on top of them.
The rugs have an artificial weathering to them.
They’re mainly ocean blue, with large orange tropical flowers printed on them.
The flowers are outlined in white and some also feature white leaves.
The blue background has a few splotches of red, yellow, and orange, too, looking a bit like the sun reflected in the ocean.
A large rug is beneath this double-sided couch and high-back chairs.
The orange cushions on the chairs match the flowers on the rug.
Right now, a new Disney Vacation Club wing is under construction where the Spirit of Aloha dinner show used to be located. The show never reopened following the March 2020 closure due to COVID-19.
