Though DisneyQuest is long dead, we saw the old attraction’s logo in an unexpected place today at Walt Disney World: on paper wrapped around roses in Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.
The long-stemmed roses are available for $9 in the Ink & Paint Shop for Valentine’s Day.
The paper is white and patterned with a version of the Mickey head made of swirls that was previously featured behind the “Q” of DisneyQuest on signs.
In the above photo, you can see the logo on the neon DisneyQuest sign, plus a giant version of it across the front of the building.
The paper also features the logo for the Disney Floral & Gifts department, which is decidedly less exciting.
We don’t know why the DisneyQuest logo is on this paper, but it was a fun surprise. We might buy ourselves some roses just to keep the paper.
The first DisneyQuest opened in 1996 at Downtown Disney (now Disney Springs). A second DisneyQuest opened in Chicago in 1999 but closed after less than three years. Other locations around the country were planned but never came to fruition. The Downtown Disney / Disney Springs location continued to operate until 2017 when it permanently closed to be replaced by the NBA Experience.
The NBA Experience opened in August 2019 but was never met with success. It closed with the rest of Walt Disney World Resort in March 2020 and never reopened. All NBA Experience Cast Members were laid off in October 2020 and Disney announced the venue was permanently closed in August 2021.
A temporary “Star Wars” VR experience occupied the space last summer, but nothing permanent has been announced.
