Calling all D23 Gold Members, we have some good news for you!
We have seen so much Disney100 merchandise already, and the company’s 100th anniversary celebration has just started. But this piece of Disney100 merch has a story behind it that is just as cute as the piece itself!
To appreciate this new item, let’s go back to 1934. Walt Disney and Joshua Lionel Cowen partnered to create a new train toy featuring Mickey Mouse. To their surprise, it was a HUGE success, selling 250,000 pieces, which helped Lionel’s company during the Great Depression.
Now, Lionel Trains are reproducing that toy for D23 Gold Members!
The toy is being offered in a “D23-exclusive platinum finish.” D23 Gold Members can pre-order this historic piece online, and the item will arrive in the fall.
How adorable is this piece of Mickey and Minnie on the handcar?
D23 Gold Members can pre-order this by logging into their member account. If you aren’t a D23 Gold Member yet but are in love with this piece, you can still become a member to get one by heading to the D23 website!
