When recreating the magic of an animated classic, there are several issues that the Walt Disney Company faces, one of which is how to tackle speaking animal characters outside of an animation setting. While some fans were impressed with the approach taken in The Lion King remake, others were disappointed in the lack of emotion visible in the character’s faces compared to the original; a similar issue Disney was to face with the upcoming release of The Little Mermaid.
A leaked image, reportedly from a new book cover, has shown what Disney fans believe is the live-action rendition of the sidekick character Sebastian in Disney’s The Little Mermaid remake, and fans are not happy. Despite sticking to the cooked-lobster coloring of the original character, sad eyes, and a small, unrecognizable mouth were among other complaints.
